There was a mid/late 30s desoto with a similar trim on the hood

The original pic is in bad shape. So the restored pic is probably wrong for the vent gl***

 

The door handle is also interesting.

The way the rain gutter flows around back and into the body line would make me think it’s a 38 Ford

Door handle looks to be '38 Ford and drip rail '37-'38 ford coupe.
Side trim must be an aftermarket thing.

Looks like a set of " Kozzy " vent windows, they were aftermarket add ons for 1935-39 fords
later kb

 

The fuzzy picture may be real, but I also think it was restored with AI. The front edge of the door and driprail is not a nice smooth arch like 37-40 Fords truly have. And the windshield frame looks thin and inset, not Ford-like.

 

Best I could come up with during a caffeine fueled rapid fire internet search is that the trim on the leading picture and the film car were coach built by the firm Bohman & Schwartz, overseen by George Duvall of Duvall windshield frame fame.

They refer to it as " Speedline" trim. Couldn't pin down anything definite on any of the claims and pictures of the 1938 Ford 4 Door sedan convertible are sp****.

The film is called "A Lady Takes a Chance" (1943), and it wasn't exactly a blockbuster. So in all likelihood the cars in this thread a coachbuilt one-offs based off of Ford cars.

 

The color photo may be AI enhanced, but you better recount the number of fingers.

The door hinge and the handle spacing are dead ringers for the "movie car".
But is the movie car a 4-door 'vert?

 

A lot of cars had slanted B pillars then, so that eliminates several makes. Can't pinpoint it.

It looks like 1955 pontiac hood trim. Placed by AI? It doesn’t look like what any manufacturer of the era would have used in their design.

 

The four door phaeton was a movie car from 1943. I screenshot that lower pic right from the movie. I’m fairly certain it was an accessory trim offered by an aftermarket company. Not Ford.
