I'm looking for pics of 64-66 chevy pickups chopped there used to be a really bad ass one that a guy named I believe fonze chopped it was a 65 I think but I can't find the pictures it had pics of the whole process of him chopping it from the stock topped truck the the finished product. I would like to find other pics of chopped chevy trucks. I'm thinking about chopping one of my trucks that I have in this body style. I think 3 or 4 inches is probably all that you would want to go without it looking to weird. but I would like to see what ever anyone else has. Thanks.
Im sure youve probably seen this truck on here before. Think the truck is a '65 but you sorta get the idea. Am i right? John
anyone have any other pics of trucks? Do you have any pics from the back that shows the back of the cab?
Don't do it. They look weird as hell in my opinion. They are way to wide to have the top chopped 3 or 4 inches. Makes the top way to disproportionate. If you are hell bent on doin' it do 1 or 2 inches at the most.
Here is a little more. The blue one was chopped 4 inches, the red one with the tilt front end 2 inches, and just for reference, a pic of my "stock" truck in there...
Your truck is pretty clean I have 4 of these trucks and I just got another one today I thought about chopping it bagging it and possibly sectioning it a little just so I could have a really wild one to go with my mild ones. I like weird sometimes. I know they don't look real good with a very drastic chop but I think lowered and mild chopping with the right body mods they look good. If I had a pic of the fonze's truck I'd post it I think it looks really good chopped and laying the body on the ground but thats just my opinion.
Well, if you have 5 of them things... chop, drop and section the chit out of at least one of em! Yeah, sadly i sold that truck...but i had planned a bag system on it, just cause its so easy with the trailing arm rear suspension. I do agree, the look good layin on the ground, especially fleetside trucks.
If you wanna chop it go nuts, but the double wall cabs are gonna be fun, and I think they look waaaaaaay too goofy chopped, there was a sectioned one on ebay a while ago... had the "bodyline" taken out. But heres mine bagged, nothing major as far as modification goes for bags, still have to pipe notch the rear to tuck it another 2-3". Theres a few threads on them here...a HUGE picture thread..
im thinking of chopping my 54 chev 1/2 but having difficalty on figuring out the back sides of the cab can any one give me input Ilike the stants of the blue one im thinking 6 inches would be max
Hey Don, This will not surprize you but almost everything needs chopped. It could use about two to three inches just cut the fat out of the top. I think they look wicked with them cut more then that, it just maters what kinda look you are going for. If you are going to cut it more, the truck has to set right in order for it to look right. The freak show is a perfect example, it is one Bad truck. Tell the Fam Hi for me.......... Happy Trails, Mick
I think the short ones look okay if chopped only a little, mainly because I think they are about 6-8 inches to short from the factory. I think they look out of proportion. That's why I like the long beds. In my opinion ( and this is all just my opinion) the long ones have much better proportions.
Here's one from my files of a 60-63 for the hell of it...I have a picture of a chopped 66, but I couldn't get it to post for some reason...
hey guys, i'm digging this up...my dad had a '66 short/fleet back in the day...well he decided he wanted to make a pro-street out of it...as far as he got was having the cab/doors chopped 3"...this is a rust-free cab that's been stored since the early 90's!...i'm debating whether i want to swap it for my cab & go for a bit more custom look...so, i'm looking for any/all pics i can find of chop top 64-66 C-10's, but preferably trucks chopped about 3"....thanks for any help
