I think it’s real. How long ago it’s been messed with is up for debate but I’m hooked. 1: sawzall. He’s cutting the tree off the car that’s growing threw the drivers side suspension 2: the frame thickness/ shrouding. If you look you can see the tie rod going through a riveted panel. I think they things got some sort of belly pan/skirt on it. Also maybe a Chevy grill/grill insert? 3: also the steering box is mounted on top of the frame rail and the mount/ strap is running quite a bit forward of the box along role too of the frame. You can see it’s bolted down. there’s just to much “right” at a glance for it to be AI but I bet it’s only been outside for a summer or two.
Follow up. Another look at the p***enger side photo and I bet that car isn’t channeled and has. Stacked frame to make it “Z’d” but it’s so ugly that they put some sheet metal over the outside to clean it up. **** I really want to see more lol
@Tim - @6 Shooter has been posting in his thread this morning . . . but claims he's unable to post any pics . . . @Moriarity linked him to @Ryan's 2014 "How To Post Images on a Thread" thread . . . I sure hope he figures it out, 'cuz I'd too like to know more about this Deuce 5wd and it's history . . . and to quell my su****ions that he is just trolling us. - @HEMI32
I have been watching too and to be honest I come to the conclusion either he doesn't have much time running forums and the etiquette that's goes with it or he's just trolling... Not sure which, but I guess time will tell.... Be nice to think it's just inexperience on running forums and that there will be more to the story and pics to go with it but not holding my breath.... Although I do think the car is real.... ..
I thank the car is the real deal. The front axle is tube, but I can’t see enough of it to ID. Maybe Franklin. The backer plates look like they have brackets for fenders. Looks like it has a tach drive on the crank, maybe SW. The grille looks like a 33 Chevy, the tail lights are 49/50 Ford, and the inside lights are after market. The rear plate is held on by the screws in the frame, the original location was probably lower, like over that hole. You can see the outline of a larger plate. At one time it looks to have had a removable rear bumper. Manifold looks like a Super Dual, Edelbrock. I think you’re right about it having a rolled pan in front. It wouldn’t surprise me, if this car had some Lakes time. Sooooo cool. Also looks to have bent spoke wire wheels.
I’ll agree, it’s been a strange thread so far. I was curious about the third batch of pictures that were posted, being “pictures of pictures”. You can see that the original pictures are well worn on the corners. The torch cuts were there on those pics too, so it’s been sitting as is for quite some time. Are they his pics ? Is it his car? Maybe I overlooked those details. Nonetheless, I’m hooked in watching. I’d like to see it out in the open. Someone was definitely thinking out if the box on it for sure.
been following along this guys post. I do not think it is his car. Or at least not his car anymore anyhow. Keeps saying he is having trouble posting pics. but his first pics was posted fine. and he seems to be able to post pics of pics just fine. he seems to be able to post pics of anything and everything accept what people want him to show. could be wrong but something about this seems very fishy. It is amazon what Ai can do.
