Thanks! I think the working on late model cars daily has really made me stick with this car and actually get it done, far easier and less stressful to work on than anything else I find myself working on.
update: replaced fuel pump, runs again, sounds exactly like a banger, I think its running on 4 cylinders... life is good
Damn, wished I checked this thread sooner... I was there lol. Unfortunately not with the car but i'll get into that quick Update! Figured out the real issue I have ran into with the car and why it died and then magically ran on only 4 cylinders.. Not sure how well you can really see it, but the jet (i think) on the right side is completely clogged, when you're only running one single carb on a dual plane intake that'll make it run on 4 cylinders.. do believe my old fuel pump was also clogged too. So I have installed a fuel filter in the bowl, maybe I should put one before the filter too.. not too sure.. but that should fix that. I didn't get the thing home until the night before we left for thin tin (thanks @Fourdoor64 ). My real goal with the car at the current moment is going to be to have it ready for next years Mowhawk Run now that the dates have been released. I got lots of time and I think I have the car mechanically Dialed now... so I think thats very doable... Today I have installed my new to me parking lights I bought from Iron Trap. I think it improves the look of the car a lot even with the car being 4 different colors.. hoping to crank that out the rest of this year. But I am changing careers at the current moment so I have a slightly more important issue to worry about Next big purchase has to be tires.
I can't believe I am just now finding this thread, I love this car, I'm glad it's going well I hope to see it at a rod rally sometime in the future. I hope to one year make it to the TOP SECRET drags in NY with the Plymouth, we could meet up.
thank you! Top Secret Drags is kinda a difficult one for me with working for a college now, I would like to make that one one of these times though! thank you!
