, you continue to incorrrect, ems does not make a simple 4" tall patch for the rear of 49-52 chevies,

jeeze loueeze. read what I wrote. I know exactly what EMS makes. they show it in thier current ads in the latest magazines. MOST 49 - 52 chevys don't need a full tailpanel. just the bottom part.

you are simply mad and jealous that these companies are doing this and your afraid that you might lose business to these guys with new parts,

uh... the more popular 49 - 54 chevys become, the more I can get for the parts I sell. think about it

...and your assumed status as the big 49 chev expert becomes minimized.

nothing or no one can minmize my self appointed status as a big 49 chevy expert.

i would suggust instead of bad mouthing people your afraid of try to market your skills or parts....

the only thing I'm afraid of is someone is going to buy an EMS 49 chevy tail panel for a couple of hundred bucks and bring it to me to fit on thier car when all it needs is a 5 x 15 piece of 18 gauge steel.

thank you for confirming my impression that you have appionted yourself as the worlds biggest 49 chevy expert. self appionted experts are @$%&*,

your concern for your customers is fortunate for them, but why does that concern automaticly turned to hatred for a company that makes good products.

this is were you contridict yourself and misdirect innoceant hambers that are not located in your region and therfor are unable to become a customer of 49 ratfink.

by the way if you are the worlds best 49 chev expert, please reveal the name of your business and a way for potential customer to contact you. i am sure you are proud and do not wish to hide behind a screen name.

the company you accuse of bad products has a know location and the abilty to be contacted by the public should not you do the same???

good Lord. are you two girls still at it????

Captmetal. do you OWN EMS?? have stock in the company or something?? if not then who cares what some screen name on an internet chat board has to say about the place. it's just his opinion. we're all entitles to our opinions, educated or otherwise.
surely we all have something better to do than to trash each other ON THE INTERNET because we don't like So And So's opinion. i know i do. so take this argument elsewhere cause you've turned my serious ON TOPIC thread into a friggin soap opera.

  6. If anyone cares, I looked at my car today, it's stashed in a garage about 12 miles away, looks like it would be pretty easy to make that patch - I don't think it even needs to go up 3 inches, 2 would probably do it. I'm thinking about finding something I can weld in the middle to french in the liscense plate mount.. the one thin blade bumper I picked up is too narrow, so I'll look for another '56 Pontiac bumper to go with the half I have now -

So thanks for the explanation on the panel, compared to some of the stuff this thing will need this is pretty simple - and it's really the only part of the car that's not "finished" even if the rest of it needs to be redone.

sorry kustombuilder... I was going to let it go. but after looking around while waiting for pizza to arrive I notice captmetals very first post was in defense of the crap thet EMS makes. out of his 30 posts here on the HAMB 5 or so directly recommend EMS to other HAMBers. with a web address and/or a phone number.

of course then there is the 6 wacky posts he's added to this one. it's really kind of funny... someone shits on EMS, then he comes to the rescue of his favorite company, then more HAMBers come in to tell thier tales of woe using these ill fitting parts and on and on it goes.

if he don't work for the company he sure as heck does have an unhealthy obsession with aftermarket sheetmetal. check out his posts... it's obvious where he's coming from, and it's not from a builders perspective.

    that's it , I'm done here.

  15. What is with all the new guys with the same horrible spelling and grammer?

I was looking at the EMS stuff for the 49' Fleetline I have, but after seeing their product at a friends place for his 52' I must say I wasn't impressed.

It looked like every other aftermarket piece. For the price I would have thought it would have been better. It wasn't horrible, but it certainly wasn't as crisp as the factory parts and the fit was only ok. It could easily be massaged to fit better however. It certainly wasn't NOS panels.

The patch panel for the front half of the rear quarters was ok though, and I might get them.

yeah...wtf does ccc mean?.......is it some kinda new trendy crap that I usually hate??? Or is it a secret code???....Do I need some kinda decoding ring??? Tell me what it means, or I will put my own definition on it, and I'm sure to piss off captbondo.

In defense of ems, I bought a tailpan for my 40 ford sedan in 1996, or around that time period. It was a very nice piece, including fit and also smooth without any wrinkles. I haven't bought any parts since, so I have no knowledge of their products today
