I am looking to buy some parts from a guy in Guymon Oklahoma and would like someone to view them before I drive 1,250 miles one way to pick them up. Parts are a '65 F 100 cab, short styleside bed and core support. Anyone near there or know Adam Vanek that operates "Ford F-100 Genuine Inventories" in Guymon OK that could check them out?
Well...I'm in Oklahoma, but Guymon is in the middle of nowhere, OK in the panhandle and quite a ways from me. Let me think if I know anyone out that way. I haven't heard of that guy or business to know anything about them.
^^^ Yes Sir it is in the pan handle. He has excellent prices, but I am wary of a scam as one bed picture that he has is elsewhere on FB marketplace. He may be too good to be real.
Thank you Sir. A Google Earth search shows a rural residence with some out buildings. Nothing visible outside that would indicate that he is for real or the parts even exist.
Do a google reverse image search on the images. Ah actually dont bother. Just had a look on his FB and lots of red flags. Easy one is that everything listed across multiple postings have different backgrounds... FWIW Id guess 99% of parts pages on FB are scammers. Especially those without websites.
Yea, I was going to suggest there were lots of red flags here since I also can't find anyone that has heard of the guy or the place. As we know, this car hobby deal is somewhat of a tight nit group.
He sent me a text earlier today. I asked him why some of the pictures he sent me were from other listings from Pa. to Cal. He has not responded. Definitely a scam artist dirt bag low life. Thank you guys for your responses. It is a dangerous world out there and we all need to watch each other's backs.
That is a long ride from Guthrie to Guymon and they may not even have barbecue to brag about. . Still if a guy is honest it isn't that hard to go out and take current photos with Something in the photo to show that it is indeed current.
