I know a lot of people here follow videos from Kyle at Carter Auto Restyling, but if you don't you should check him out. He's currently turning a very rusty 1953 Chevy pickup into a custom, sort of his version of the Rod and Custom dream truck. In the latest video he started chopping the top, and used some clever slicing and dicing to minimize the amount of work required. He shows what can be done in a home garage with a minimum of tools, but plenty of talent. https://www.youtube.com/@CarterAutoRestyling

I've been watching his channel for a while. He does a good job of turning junk back into good trucks.

Been watching him for a couple of years now. I like how he hasn’t suc***bed to the trend towards becoming an infomercial channel like many other channels. Still works out of his home garage, with a minimum of tools. Occasionally mentions the HAMB, too.

I generally loose interest when these guyyget successful and start hawking products for sponsors and build huge shops. (Junkyard Digs, Puddin’s Fab Shop, VGG, Diesel Creek, etc).

Keep up the great work, Kyle.

    He has very Canadian humor.:D

Kyle is extremely talented at metal work, and much more versed in how to cut up an old car than he lets on. I am also watching his current build with interest.

I tend to agree, but it depends on the personality. Puddin remains genuine in my opinion, so he still gets our views.

Yeah Kyle underrates himself for the channel. But he has some serious talent!
He’s on my list of regular watches:
Carter Auto Restyling, Cold War Motors, Fitzees Fab, Strong’s Garage, Coldstream Hot Rods, Make it Custom, Rusty Beauties; all good Canadian channels without the the “hawking”...

Another good Canadian builder is Brent at Half*** Kustoms on Youtube.

Funny, I’m watching it now and have been since he dragged that mess out of the junkyard. I’m really looking forward to seeing how he goes about closing the seams around the driprail.

Just a bump for Kyle, and to ask a question. Seems to have been missing his typical upload schedule. The YT comments say he's stuck on the Auburn.

There will be no video today. I have been toiling away on the Auburn and the work has been painstakingly slow with limited visual progress.

His Patreon shows one for members only and 2 others since then.

I wouldn't mind paying up and supporting him, but am not a fan of another collection company having all my personal data. He's said he doesn't do much social media which I don't either. Has there been any word on this? I know he was annoyed by the AI ripoffs of his content.

I'm patiently waiting for more Kyle content. I constantly wish I could channel more Kyle when I'm cludgeing my way through a job. Mart.

I’m having Kyle withdrawal symptoms. Keep checking my Subscriptions icon to make sure I haven’t missed something.

I recommend him fully myself, he is so talented and doesn't need a bunch of high dollar equipment. He has bought a planishing hammer to speed things up over doing it by hand. And I love his humor also.

There was a video after the Model A door one that had the ***le "they take 25% of my money" or something similar. It was a Member's Only video and then it disappeared after 2 days.
The other video he did a while back calling out the YT channel that had stolen his content is gone now too.

i too am having withdrawals and hope all is well; i don't know if he's naturally pessimistic or if he really thinks his youtube career is on shaky ground but i wish the best for him. but mostly his cats.

seriously, i love his work and humility to a fault.

Four days ago he posted a note in the community section of his channel saying a new Auburn video will be out next Friday, so just wait a few more days.

He also included a picture of one of his cats :)

Good to hear! He's not a big guy and CWM has mentioned the mosquitos are horrendous this year. I was afraid something bad had happened! With a herd of fur babies myself, it's good to hear his are doing well.

I don't see much online about these cars. I know he will treat it right considering his limited budget but great abilities.

We are pulling for you, Kyle.

Here is one that ran across Bring A Trailer if you want to see one more together. His has a bit different back end, but it looks close. 29 kyle.jpg

BTW, I'm rewatching and you suggested that you would lead in the rear fender if you got 60K views.

I'd rather watch you continue tackling it's issues, not polishing stuff. :)

Also I know you and Scott had your unsubscribe challenge during the Omega-Seville build.
Congrats on over 100K. The cats will love the plaque box.

Wonder how many people are telling him to rip all the wood out and replace it :) To be honest I was surprised how well those products worked.

There are always people that offer solutions without understanding the cost of those suggestions in time, money and effort. That doesn't even include the preservation VS restore question. If it's entirely redone, is it still the same? The hammer that's had 3 new handles and a new head, Ship Of Theseus debate.
He's doing what is within his means and abilities, and has outlined why this is his choice.
I doubt the internet warriors have perfectly a manicured landscape around their house that is dust free and tidy.

I'm also impressed with the product. It did a lot more than just a glaze on a donut, which is what it seemed to be at the start.

Kyle has posted a new Model A video. He's still teasing what it will be.

I am still guessing a 3 window coupe. This shows 2 prototypes. A straight windshield and an angled windshield.

Of the two made the one in the above youtube video seems the most successful. Hopefully he cam pull off something as effective, if thats what he is actually going to do.
