I suspect most of us have projects waiting in the wings for future attention.
here's my 32 DeSoto 3 window and my 54 International shortbed...

I pulled off this to get my V8 Corvair on the road. It has a fresh 30 over 283 with 4 - 97’s , 5 speed and a 3:55 posi. It should be a hoot to drive

Main one just waiting in the corner right now. Sort of working on all the rest.

Here's 3 of several, in no particular order:
Chopped '36/'37 Chevy truck. 327 +.040, Duntov cam, 3-speed manual.

'31 Vicky. Probably use my '49 Merc eng/trans.
    upload_2026-8-18_17-43-29.png
    '40 DeLuxe coupe. Planning on using a '60 394 Olds/auto.

you might remember this one that I bought from you many years ago. I finished the top and doors and had it ready for paint. Then a friend asked me to sell it to him and an offer that I couldn’t refuse. I see it at some of our local shows.

I have a 1960 Ford C700 and a '63 Ford Fairlane waiting for me to finish up my '51 Ford F1.

So many hot rods, and so little time....

  18. Cool stuff.

I'm not sure why, but I often enjoy seeing the unfinished cars... the projects in the wings or the ones being worked on... more than I do the cars that are finished. Maybe it's the promise of what's to come? Maybe the idea of from whence they come. Definitely a lot to do with the effort and diligence and artistry and vision displayed.

I just like the garage scene.

Here’s some inspiration for your old International truck I did the speedometer and final calibration after he finished this gem .

  21. @rusty1 I like your DeSoto coupe. I have a Plymouth. It's at the top of my list, but I guess you could say it's in the wings if that means not working on it yet. Gotta get the shop finished.

I have one waiting in the wings.
I'm aging out here and wondered how cool would it be if my LAST BUILD was of my FIRST hot rod, that I built in 1969 at 17 years old...'48 Chevy 283/3spd...that is if the car still existed and if I could find it.

It took a couple years of sleuthing, and I finally did find it still existed (sort of) and was only about 75 miles away... and after all these years, it still had the registration/***le in MY NAME...but YIKES...it was used as a "parts car" for another build.

It now sits in my brother-in-law's barn and for the last 5 years I've been collecting parts for the build, including a complete '48 Chevy coupe parts car.
Now all I need is to conjure up enough ambition to build it before my expiration date. LOL
