Hot Rods Homemade Model A rear crossmember

For those of you that have made a Model A ch***is from 4x2 tube or similar, how have you fabricated a rear cross member? By that I dont mean installing a stock crossmember, rather making one. Looking for insight on how to do that with a ladder bar suspension and Model T spring rear. Thanks as always.

Just for insurance sides to keep spring pack from moving

 

Here's the one I made, along with the pattern to show how I offset the joints. I don't like straight weld joints in possible high stress areas. Easier to fracture welds that way.

With the rear spring you could put it either on the bottom of mine or tuck it up in the offset...

 

I made this one MANY years ago for my old roadster, as I wanted the spring behind the axle plus clear the QC.

 

I'm using a '36 ford front spring in the rear of my coupe, not a T spring, but I just used 2x4 .125" wall box steel. Nothing is finish welded but it might spark some ideas.

 

Hi all thanks for all the suggestions. At the same time you have graciously replied Ive been stumbling around the internet, I found these from Boling Bros. At $53 looks like a simple, safe cheap way to do it.

If need be can weld in some small spacers to accommodate the slightly narrower T spring.
