62-65 Superstock Mopars picture thread..

10.47@133mph... thats haulin *** for a maxie in the mid 60s. The early 60s cars always have the dopest reverse wheels, out of necessity, im sure.

 

If someone could Photoshop a driver in the car it would look it was doing a wheelstand with the tow bar still attached!

 

Found the shot I spoke of a few pages back. The car in the pic below was Strickler's 65 altered wheelbase car. It was sold to Chuck McJury who later updated it with 66 tins (and charger quarter panels for some reason) and campaigned it as McJury's Fury. In the early 70's some righteous mfkr cleaned it up and decided to put it on the street. Reminds me of my father. When he bought the Jayhawker in 85 his plan was to put it on the street with a 440/ STR-14/ 4spd(of course) and drive the fk out of it.

Wish i could track this gentleman down. This is the only lead I've gotten in years on this car. Ties together a bunch of loose ends with the car being hemi powered in the mid 60's before the wheelbase was altered, and supposedly after, but the front fenders having "its a wedge" painted on them when my father got the car. Haven't found any new info or pictures in 15- 20 years.

I wish somebody would put them front wheels where they belong. Car had the wheels set forward a few inches in the wheelwells when my dad had the car, as they should be. Thing looks fkn ridiculous.

Does it get any cooler?? I used to laugh at how cut to fk this one ended up, but over the years ive grown to love it

 

Anyone know anything about this car? Don’t think I ever saw this car while living in Detroit area.
