Yes....had a new neighbor moved in across the street from me about 10 yrs. ago in Wisconsin. They said they were moving from Lincoln Nebraska. I mentioned I had been there a few times on business but also mentioned how I loved the Bill Smith Museum. They smiled and said....." oh yes....the Bill Smith family.....the largest owner of real estate in the entire city of Lincoln"....and then went on to list all the things they owned. Very interesting.
Just have a question on VW in pic I have not really seen the Zing's since 70's But why does the one shown have a Weld Star on rear ? Thats a 90's wheel .
yeah that is a modern version of the vw zinger, those modern wheels are why I didn’t post it. It even has a small block Chev when the real one has an FE ford
@Moriarity Thank you I think I was about 4ish When I seen the Zinger in early 70's World of Wheels . Since your thread another bucket list place to want to see , 1,300 miles. @TerrytheK , I was just questioning why the Weld Star. Also wonder as parts are found if S-W add's them to engine's & other Non compleat item's on display .
I forgot to mention that I ran into Bob Larivee Sr at the Museum. 95 years old and still drives himself from Colorado to Michigan!
I remember you telling me about the 51 Merc rear gl*** when saw this at your place. And the 59 Chevy deck lid is pretty obvious for the shape of the rear. Seeing again in Lincoln, I have to guess the tops of the quarter panels are sourced from a 58 Chevy??
Mark I’m curious what the process is for getting your car in there? You’re obviously a known collector/builder of custom cars and automobilia (sp). Do you get a call and they just ask, got something you’d like to display? And do they come pick it up or do you deliver?
