Folks Of Interest Anyone ever dealt with them?

Old Ford Parts Co. 2141 West Main Street, Springfield, OH, United States, 45504. Are they reputable? They want a bank transfer, no cash. I am skeptical.

 

They've been around a long time, maybe new owners?

I’d have to call their bank and verify the account, it could be a scammer masquerading as the business owner.

 

I’m curious how you contacted them, and what was being ordered.
I could understand say a 5k plus order, but seems odd on say a $200 order.

 

^^^^^ Order is a total of $1800.00. No tax. he gave me a bank routing number and I am contacting them now.

 

Be careful, will the bank provide any personal information from the routing number or just that it’s one of their accounts?

 

I'd walk. You have ZERO protection of your money. Offer them a credit card payment or no deal.

 

I offered CASH. No deal with him. I contacted the bank he gave me and the routing number supplied. They have no account with him or Old Ford Parts Co. I called the "Old Ford Store" at the address he gave me and asked about if they had the parts in question. They looked and said NO. I then informed them of my real reason for the call, verified they did not have the parts, and informed them of his activities. They looked him up on FB and are taking action against him now. Thanks to all who responded here and remember. It is not safe out there so be very careful.

Ohio Secretary of State that regulates business in Ohio had no record of Old Ford Parts Co. But do have Old Ford Store, 2141 West Main Street, Springfield, OH, United States, 45504. He gave me their address and just changed the name. sent pictures of the Springfield News Sun with him holding it in front of the parts in question. Todays scammers are pretty darn good at AI although this is not the "Early Ford Store" building located at the above address. We have ways to check them out and everyone here that responded, THANK YOU. Secretary of State in the respective state, Google Earth views of the given address Google the actual business and speak directly with them. And of course right here with the brotherhood of the HAMB. Pictured below is the scammer.

The way I look at it, I think it should go without saying until you can 100% verify it is a legit business. you can pretty much figure every business on Facebook /Instagram is a scam . Ive seen parts I had listed years ago on various pages on instagram just recently for sale...using my pictures ! haha

 

Modern day scam artists and some of their tricks and tactics they go by to take your money and never be seen again along with the parts they promised you.

 

most everything is a scam lately (if the prices are outdated and seem to good, scam), dont send money unless you have personally bought from before. Also ONLY paypal as business.

even talking to someone directly can be a scam.

 

^^^^^^^He requested Paypal after I refused a direct bank transfer after checking the bank routing number. Someone who one refuses cash on pick up, beware.

 

Currently there's a pair of very nice Woolites on Fakebook for $1,100. A problem arises when you see the same photo on a completed BAT auction where they sold for $7,000+. I guess they were bought by some hotrod philanthropist who wants to take a 5+ grand loss so some poor guy can put them on his car.

In today's world, an individual has to do a little bit more research, in discerning what is real via the internet and what is a scam and a total fake.

To be fair, I doubt the guy in the picture is the scammer. The scammer is probably just using his likeness.

True. But when the seller absolutely refuses cash, dollars, U.S. greenbacks. Flags fly. As they should. If a man comes to my door to buy and he has cash in hand for an agreed upon price. He will not walk away with it. He will hand it over for the parts he came for. Then be on his merry way.

 

Today you better have one of those money pens to make sure all those 100s are real. Cheap insurance for $4

 

Id bet 99%+ of facebook parts pages are scammers.

 

So, looking at the "photo" ask yourself, "why would a business have their business name 3 times on the front of the store?" Answer" They wouldn't. But AI does **** like that all the time.
