I smell a rat. Obviously has a 40 hood with 41 side emblems on it but that is beside the point. I don't my buddy to lose money to a scammer. The truck is in Louisianna according to the ad; he moved down to Texas a few years ago, so he is not too far away. I'm not local obviously to help him out in person but I do have my resources. You can't paint a car for this price. Anyone know the truck? Seller on here?

yup, reverse image search is your friend. Facebook is a ****hole full of scammers, one of the reasons I will not dip one toe in that rancid pool
Don't be fooled into thinking all the sellers on the HAMB are straight shooters and deliver what they promise. I can attest to that.
I just called him and warned him off on the FB ad. I suggested he look on our website and if he serious about buying a cl***ic toy, join up and take advantage of the knowledge. You can't be too careful out there. Thanks again.
I blame it on the way they were raised and the lack of parental supervision. If they'd had daddies that showed them the way a wrench was supposed to turn, they might have been model citizens, like us.
I would consider buying a car off Facebook if I could lay hands on it in person. I've always been leery of buying a car that I hadn't looked at in person. I bought a Model A off Craigslist that was farther than I wanted to drive to look at in person and it was a little rougher than I had hoped but mostly as listed. The old saying is "Buyer Beware" and that's good advice!
There's not a problem I see with any of it. This is how I do it, I contact the person, say I'm interested, let them know I want to see it in person, kick the tires and if I'm happy I carry and pay in cash only, no problem..... Done this several times thru the years and only found one that refused, had a fake car for sale. ....
I have never had an issue on buying or selling on marketplace. I think it’s very annoying when they keep saying “what’s your bottom dollar” but yet never make an offer.
they ask "what's your bottom dollar" then offer less. too many people watch American Pickers and think that's how it works
There's a scam for everything, even puppies. I know of two businesses that had there name used as a scam for selling cars. One is here in town. He had a guy show up to pickup the car he bought and put down a sizable deposit. The guy doesn't sell cars. the buyer showed him the web site with his company name, and address, but pictures of a big fancy showroom full of cl***ic and muscle cars. This guy runs a mechanics shop, and it's far from fancy. That took a lot of h***le to get figured out, as well as police involvement. The buyer is out his deposit. Unless I can put hands on it, or have someone I trust look at it, I'm not buying.
Fakespook marketplace is about 95% scams There's stripped, junkers, dented, rusted , and junk cars bodies and trucks worth less that $500 that glue sniffers have scam advertised for $15,000-$25,000-++++ Especially here in the PNW .
