Little tavern in the ‘couve called Selbergs. Since 1934 and in the same family since the 50’s. Speaking of the 50’s.

And of course what could make the evening complete? A Jack *** in a big block chevelle dumping the clutch and losing control of his car, climbed a curb, slammed back down, still under power, crossed the street into a parking lot where he did more carnage, then tried to leave but changed his mind a couple blocks later. Stopped at a gas station and went back to take responsibility…or blame his mechanic claiming the linkage jambed. The mechanic didn’t side step the clutch at 4000 RPM.

See that white switch on the dash? He says that is a turn signal switch with an air valve behind it. The air is slowly released after engaging the signals and when the air is gone the signals cancel. Cool.

That 50 Olds convert sure would look good in my garage.
That turn signal switch is a Lucas switch from a 50's MG. So don't expect it to work for very long. :p

Thanks ! Kool cars, Tavern cruises tend to have bad results, IMO, HP and alcohol, a dangerous combination. In my time I've seen some really crazy stupid at events of this venue type. This memory that popped up, 20+ years ago, Large sports complex with a nice restaurant that had a weekly cruise, 100+ car turnout. $1 beers, pop, hot dogs, $2 cheeseburgers outside, DJ and great dinner specials inside, the only cruise my wife liked, we had a nice dinner inside, a Great venue, was a favorite cruise of mine. Started out, a few knuckle heads doing burnouts, escalating to 2 lining up and racing complete with a cutie- pie flagging, crazy out of control despite owners repeatedly asking/pleading with everyone to behave, neighbors were calling the sheriff and the town threatening to pull the permit for this event. One week the sheriff's walked through the lot asking nicely to knock it off. Did some ***Hats listen ? the next week it starts up and noticed it was different, noise, then silence, nobody cruising back, the sheriff's setup down the road, had flatbeds, cars impounded, men went to jail, 6 I heard before word got back to the parking lot and men were warned what was down the road. That cruise venue stopped at the end of the season., A great loss IMO. Note, I'm a Wisconsin guy and I do not drink.( my Dad, a functional alcoholic, not a bad guy, I decided as a teenager, Not going to happen to me) Sadly Wisconsin has all the records for alcohlol abuse. Wisconsin consistently ranks a**** the highest states in the U.S. for adult alcohol consumption, binge drinking, and excessive alcohol use, with roughly 20% to 25% of adults reporting excessive drinking habits and every single county in the state recording high rates. (googled info.) Side Note, I drove like an ***Hat 16 till 22 then went open wheel racing for 21 years till my need for speed calmed down. No excuses, Just a dumb *** I was as a kid, now old, still a little dumb *** left in me LOL

Speedster looks to have a bunch of Jaguar in it. Looks like Jag 6 cyl to me from what can be seen. Plus Jaguar dash gages look like my Mk1 gages.

The 50 Olds really trips my trigger, is it an actual convertible or a coupe with a Carson style top? The deck lid looks like it's longer than normal.

Years ago at a tavern/restaurant cruise in, nice tavern and lot, it got out of control. An Old Timer with his Corvette just wanting to be like all the guys doing a burnout when leaving, at this time the police were not showing up yet. He lights it up while turning and a smoking 360 + a 180, up over curb and on top of a small tree. WOW ! Grandma was Hot, She was ripping Grandpa a new one big time. Fortunately no one hurt. One more, At a car show in a city park they set up a burn out deal on a short road in the park with a NEW Dodge PU as the last safety stop, this was set up before the drinking started, My thought,How stupid can you be, about 5/6 cars in, the throttle sticks ? on a T bucket and crashes into the PU, WFO, he flew out of T bucket and over the PU, hurt, survived, T bucket junk. A lot of cruise in's are at Tavern restaurant venues, back then and still now but it seems the stupid has calmed down quite a bit, thinking age brings wisdom. I belong to a car group here in the Great Northwoods, we get together weekly all summer, dinner cruises and local car shows, not many car shows left up here now, I'm the Kid of our group at 78.
