Hot Rods flathead Ford crank pulley question

    My guess is that the fan should be moved to the intake manifold instead of the crankshaft.

    Should I cut the fan mount off of the crank pulley or should I find an original pulley without the fan adapter?

    Never seen that configuration before. How was the belt run? I would get the correct pulley and fan ***embly to mount it to the intake.

    You can just trim the front stuff off, down to where the crank bolt sits. I’ve done it before.

    '39-'40 Fords had the crank mounted fan. It wasn't one of their better ideas and didn't last long. I wouldn't cut it up or anything like that. It may be a desired part for some, and you would be better off getting the proper part for the application.
