That pic is fake as hell...lol! Look at the right side of his face and odd line of it, almost like a photoshop. The newspaper is perfectly flat, which would be near impossible with a newspaper of any sort. There's more but that is more than enough for me to call BS on it. I even wonder if that is him or someone whose image he fed into the AI that created this master POS.

Same individual as before holding the same newspaper. He tried to convince me that this was a 6' bed which of course it is not. There are slight differences between the two pictures, but the same AI issues stick out like a sore thumb. As mentioned before the smooth newspaper. Putting them both here for you to compare. Pretty slick but still not convincing.

That is the whole point of this thread. No matter who, if you do not know them or if they are not on a board for any length of time. Do not trust them. The individual that is perpetrating this impersonation can do irreparable harm to a legitimate business like "The Old Ford Store". If this individual took the money for the parts promised. I travel 3+ hours to pick them up without checking. I would probably be at the least very mad and accuse them of fraud. Some of us are older here and who else is suspectable of being taken but those that are not all that wary. It used to be that you could call up a complete stranger and make a deal over the phone. Go to them and meet for the very first time. View the parts, exchange the agreed upon amount and go away happy. With the high speed internet world of today it is very different. As the Cl***ified Moderator here says. "Trust no one and brand your cattle." That is as close to what he says as I can recall and it is very good advice,

 

This is the scammers latest new FB page. Same person, building front, parts, added a 1952 F 1, in El Segunda Ca.. Already reported to FB.

I bought parts from them over the years but, since one of my sons lives in Springfield, I pick them up and pay for them in person. Good store to use and knowledgeable people at the counter. They used to set up at various shows. Don't know if they still do.

 

Yes they are reputable and do still set up at various shows. When I called them, they checked the scammer out while we spoke and reported them trying to protect their own reputation. They also responded to my e-mail that I sent regarding the scam and you can see the results that I posted above. Scammers must make a good living should not sleep at night.
