Hot Rods Historic Bonneville Race Car Found, The Losinski/Duncan/Chrisman roadster

i read in Hot Rod Mag that is was hauled in the back of a flatbed truck truck with the chrisman coupe on a trailer behind the truck, well i found a pic of it!

 

That’s cool to find that pic that verifies what you read about the hauling.

 

I love the tire in tire ingenuity.

More often than not LSR cars are trailered with cut inner tubes around their race tires. Mine is never on the tires at home always on jack stands. In the trailer the tires at one time sat on old truck mud flaps but since my son I were both high voltage electrical line men we now use cut up failed high voltage rubber blankets…

 

I'm-a big fan of the Chriman era builds. Their racers always looked great. Here's a few pictures I stumbled on and saved from web sources that haven't been posted yet on this thread s'

I don't - I wonder how many *****in cars were wrecked after blown tires. (This was the era of hot rods on bald tires)

I couldn't agree with you more about Tandem Axels !! Even some pre-war smart guys used them
However by 1949 and the Bonneville Nationals I bet the WWII tire shortages were all but over and the smart racers took advantage of that. Sure some didn't... Also road speeds were different, road surfaces too.
I'm sure the Chrisman team could not get that truck and trailer, with tools, 2 cars and other gear going 70 mph except down hill, but didn't 'cause them drum brakes on the truck and no brakes on the trailer dictated some brains... which they surely had.
I've attached some extra cool single axle trailers from that time. Valley Customs built the body for the So-Cal Streamliner (maybe more I'm not sure)...I bet also built the wayyy cool single axle trailer that Alex towed behind his convertible to B' Ville and the dry lakes of the day. I found schweet color shot of the Kens and Leslie on their single axle trailer. Check out the amazing Stu Hilborne's 'Liner on of all things a tandem axle trailer with fenders.
