There have been times I’ve had to resize photos before being able to post them, I’m sure you’ll find someone to help with this.
It’s a very interesting, unusual car. Looking forward to seeing more details.

Maybe the reason for wondering about the pictures is that some of them look like they were taken with a film camera back in the '70s, like this for instance:

    Well, pics aside, etc.

    Have you bought the car?

not accusing anyone of anything, but most people would take shots of the car if it was at their house

Can you back up far enough to get a picture of the whole car? Either side would work.

Wow, we haven’t had a thread like this for a while now. I keep coming back thinking that maybe there will be pics of the whole car sometime.

If a hippo pedal boat comes to this thread, I’m all in. Otherwise I’ll be at the @flamedabone Opel thread….
Took less time to grab the Uncertain T.

Sorry, but it is my car... has been for a while, longer than I'd like to admit...
But the whole reason I started this thread was to confirm what I thought a 'real' car guy / girl would think when they saw my car pic and the overgrown brush,,, my disappointment with my friend was that after over 30 years of trying to instill some appreciation for older cars that were finished / painted back in the day... and more recent advice on cool vintage wheels and gauges have basically been a waste of time... on his taste / appreciation, or lack of... just not the same, which I need to understand and accept...

    I really like survivor cars...
But my friend's taste (to each their own!) is at a much different level than mine...
I don't want to say anything that will hurt his feelings, bc everyone is allowed to, and should have their own choices... otherwise it's just alot of belly ****ons...

The first pics that I took were over 26 years ago... the car is not at my house, bc no room... the digital pics are of the film pics or different views... no sense of taking pics of the same thing when I have it on film...
It was never my intention of posting my car pics... only to confirm what I thought should be / might be of a real car guys/ girl's first impression...
I hate to admit / accept that my friend had ONLY asked, "Is that your backyard?"
    And NOTHING about the car!
    ‍‍
So my feeling is that, after all of the time and advice, my friend is NOT a real car guy, in my opinion... but a 1(800) car guy...
He orders new stuff online... and I had to explain why I carry around a small tape measure... bc the stuff that I like is old... vintage old... and IF I see a wheel that I like, for example, I need to measure it to make sure what width it is...
I'm sorry, but that's what it is... as I see it... and my friend is en***led to his opinion / taste...

And I'm losing storage space for two cars... IF anyone has some cheap / free space for a little while... in the L.A. area, please let me know... one is a g***er, the other a muscle car... Thanks in advance...

Sorry, NO hippo pedal boat... but another digital pic of an old film photograph... FWIW, both pics are mine...

Am looking for an affordable 59AB for this 5W, hopefully with a nice cam... this should NOT sould like a prius EV.

THANKS to everyone for your comments, time, and patience... Be safe and take care...

It might not be fair, or right... but thinking of my 1 (800) car guy friend, American Graffiti comes to mind...
When Mackenzie Phillips says to Milner... is it just before the shaving cream on the windows (?!?)...
You big weenie! Or something close to that... OK, Boss...

I need to watch American Graffiti, again...

I guess I missed the content of this thread, but…

You’ve had the car for 26? I think it was, years ago

    Is that right?

If so, why the concern about your friend?
    It’s you car.

Yes... been sitting on this for over 26 years... was working nights, six, seven days a week... trying to sleep whenever I got the chance....
Yes... been sitting on this for over 26 years... was working nights, six, seven days a week... trying to sleep whenever I got the chance... pay bills... and no discipline, bc I have other projects, too... but working nights is much harder on me than I thought it would be... staying up late is not the same as working all night... sometimes I felt like all I was doing was working for storage payments... and too stubborn / stupid to sell anything...
OK, I'll put the violins away... but I realize my storage fees should be money towards getting my projects running and stopping... so looking / hoping to find less expensive or free storage somewhere...

And again, NO concern about my friend's thoughts on MY car... it's disappointment about his lack of appreciation for survivor cars... and realizing his taste is not the same as mine... that I think that he would be happy as long as some clueless person looks at his car and says, oooh... shiny paint, pretty... not caring what year, model, or drivetrain... or she wants her nail polish in that same color...
But, again, to each their own...
It's that real carfreaks will see the pic... and ask about the car... not the overgrowth... the car and details are what should be important...
That's what I think... and NO ONE here asked only or anything about the trees... faith in gearheads, for me, has been confirmed... and my 1 (800) friend's thoughts do not matter / rank...

So now we've got through friendship disagreements, vehicle recent history, your work life balance struggles etc etc.

Maybe we can get a September 1st 2026 update, some current pictures of the car, plans for it, requests for help if you want anything.

It really looks an interesting project, that fits right into what folks on here are interested in! So here and now can be your motivator to get it moving ;)

GEEZ, 6 pages and this whole thread was just a *****-fest about someone not appreciating a picture of your car 26 years ago???
If you need help/advice on building the car, the HAMB is the right place...but after 26 years of inaction on the car, and your age, perhaps it's time to p*** it on to someone who will actually revive it, instead of just dwelling on what someone else thinks about it.

I personally would love to see someone with a solid youtube setup take this on such as IronTrap, could be a real interesting build with some decent content.

    Sorry to correct you... not...
My 1 (800) friend's backyard comment was from June, three months ago... about pics that I had taken several days earlier, on May 31st, also earlier this year... I started this thread just last month, on Aug 5th...
So, not six pages about him not appreciating a pic, but what a carhead sees, and what a non-car person does not see...
And that, as what I call a 1 (800) car person, just does not get it... after over 30 years of him, intermittently asking for my advice, still does not really get it...

So I replied to you bc of what your post is, IMO, misinformation.

I am sorry that you've wasted your time on this thread...
It is time that you will never get back...
But this is a free country, you are en***led to your opinion... even IF I think that some of your last post is misinformation... and no one is twisting your arm to check / read my posts or thread...

I did notice that in your last post, while complaining about my '*****' about my friend thread, you did not mention my last pic, which is a pic from 26 years ago... a complete, side view of my 5W, as I first saw it... my newest pics include trying to saw / remove the overgrowth... and crazy growth through the front suspension...
Even IF you don't revisit this thread, have a good life... Be safe and take care...

My mis-information was gleaned from 6 pages of confusing rants about how some 1-800 guy should think...not to mention confusing pictures with no chronological order.
What's even more disturbing is you have been "sitting on" this car for 26 years, let it deteriorate outdoors and have done nothing with it,
We all know guys like you..."It's not for sale, gonna fix it up some day" while you are closing in on your expiration date.

Hahaha it was another three years, to the day, before I was able to see this / my 5W... or even told the address...
Once given the address, I went with a couple friends with roller tires, air tanks, and a floor jack... was going to flat tow it to my friend's place...

This was supposed to be for my dad... I told him in the ER, not to give up... that I had a surprise for him... so, no... it's not for sale...

Yes, I'm getting closer to my expiration date...
It might be available at my estate sale...
I'll try to post a pic of when we flat towed it that day...

Before I was given the address or saw the 5W... I had no idea of its conditione... rusted out like Swiss cheese, or just a jalopy shell with welded doors... no clue... I told the PO that I wanted to get it out of the weather... PO told me that it's been outside all this time, that it didn't matter...
So it's been sitting outside since 1963... 37 years before I was able to take possession. ..

Please do not include me in your "guys like you" group... YOU do not know me... I do have other cars / projects... some became daily drivers, some are waiting... but I don't need to explain this to you, bc YOU KNOW...

FWIW, I try to pick up parts for my projects, but YOU already knew that... but your post makes it seem that all I do is sit behind my No Trep***ing sign, in a rocking chair with a 12 gauge...

Not that you deserve to know, or that it matters... when I got my 40 pick up running, I put between 135k -150k miles on it the first 10 years...
The pic upload didn't work... will try again / once more for now...
Was guessing that you would not waste any more of your time on this thread... time that you won't get back...
