Hot Rods can someone identify what Ford wheels these are?

I want to sell them but I don't want to mislead someone.

15 inch wheels 5x5.5 wheel pattern

 

Look like regular f150 truck wheels. They resemble 50 Merc, but look like they take the smaller hubcap.

'67-late 90s F100/150, most Broncos (not Bronco 2s) and gen 2-up E100/150 vans also. Ford still used the 'inny' type hubcap on trucks until '66, switched to this style in '67 which used a 'standard' 10.125" poverty cap. The four hubcap 'bumps' are the giveaway. Yours are probably early-mid-70s or newer as disc brakes were fairly rare before that and those are disc brake wheels.

 

they are disc brake wheels, so I'd go with Steve's ***essment....but maybe a few years later, wasn't 73 when they started using disc brakes on F100s?

Discs were an option before that as I've personally seen '69/70 trucks with them, but far from common. Most you saw were on F250s. The '67-72 trucks used four piston K-H calipers similar to the ones used on the T-birds and Lincolns. Ford went to the single-piston sliding style caliper in '73, the K-H were a bear to rebuild as well as expensive. Parts for the F100 version are pretty much non-existent these days as so few were sold.

I'll note that the two F100s (one '69, one '70) I saw with discs the owners couldn't find parts in the late '70s and did conversions to the later type.

 

What brands them as disc brake wheels, is it the four “slots” between the rim and center?

 

Will those wheels take a baby moon hubcap with those “outie nubs”?

I’m looking for a set of 15” wheels so I can use reversed Buick hoops on the back.

 

No, it's the lack of taper going towards the center in the rim to clear the calipers. Drum brake wheels taper in at about 20 degrees. Here's a pic of a reversed wheel where you can easily see the taper...

These wheels will accept any 'standard' 10.125" hubcap, which includes pretty much any Ford car hubcap '49-up except for 13" or smaller wheels, most GM hubcaps '55-up other than 13".

I'll have to go out and take a photo or two in the morning of some I have that I bought for project. It is the design of the inner part of the rim to clear the caliper though .

I paid 10 bucks each for the ones I have.

Thanks for the reply! So what year Ford wheel would be 15” and allow me to use the small Baby Moons the snap to the inside rather than the type which snap to the outside of the centre that come with those flat sides? Again I’m looking for what years that will allow the smaller beanie caps…

 

The pre-'67 Ford F100 wheels will accept the early caps. Fitment would be '40 to '48 Ford car wheels. I don't know if the 'smoothie' wheel type would fit, you'll need to ask.

 

Those wheels are riveted, I doubt they are newer than mid sixties.
