I’m working on my 52 Belair for sometime now. Maybe three years finally got the car on the road going for the traditional look. What are your thoughts and like some input currently it’s lowered. It has a V8 conversion GEN 1 small block Chevy th350
69 Camaro rear end

made it to my first car show which was Cheaterama 26 good time !

What a great looking Hard Top.
Considering it has ALL the bling, I'd take it a little farther with a visor and skirts...but I'm a little bias...

 

Looking good! I hope it's dead reliable. If not, concentrate on that. At that point, just fuss over the details, refining it and making it as smooth, clean and shiny as time and ability allow.

I was never a fan of the clock in the middle of the dash, so I got rid of mine. Smooths out the dash IMHO. And the dice? No.

I have the skirts, but the previous owner really did some bad bodywork so the skirts don’t fit like they should if I keep the car long enough maybe I’ll redo the quarters and make sure they fit right as far as the sunvisor goes I would only put an original sunvisor the one piece visor not that reproduction sunvisor that they make with the chrome strip in the middle that thing is ugly.

 

I like the factory layout if I were to go full kustom, I’d probably put 59 Impala dash

 

Right that’s what I’m doing now. Making sure I get all the bugs out of the car before I take it on a super long cruise.

 

lol I named the car after my father who p***ed away about 3 years ago I thought it was fitting. He loved old cars and he’s the one who got me into cars rock on Mr. Lee!

 

I like it, those early Chevrolet hard tops are so beautiful. Not easy to install a V8 in one, though.

350 eddy cam,headers, dual quads. Heads were treated to a 3 angle valve job and milled should scoot along pretty good

 

Really cool car. How did you lower it...dropped uprights and lowering blocks? It sits nice...looks like a very nice cruiser.

 

I thought the idea of building a rod or custom was to make it to what you like, not what somebody else thinks. Great looking car, but that's only because that's what I would build, minus the fuzzy dice.

I used 3” drop springs and 54 Chevy uprights and links
The rear is Possies drop springs no blocks
The differential pumpkin is very close to the trunk floor, so I opened the section up in the trunk floor and made a hump for clearance. I used a trailer fender and sectioned it then welded it to the trunk pan.

 

Cool ride.
If you like the fuzzy dice, keep them!
That glove box is screaming for some pin stripping, or custom art work (I can hear it from here).

Its easy to go for modern lowering techniques but I appreciate you have done is the right way.

My 51' has the odd rear end pumpkin interface issue so I may steal your idea there.
