I guess the post title pretty much covers it... I want to know if a set of Competition Cams Magnum roller tip rockers will fit under a set of Chevrolet script valve covers. Anyone tried it? Thanks, Ed
[ QUOTE ] Yes, on my 327. Didn't have to use double gaskets, either. [/ QUOTE ] Really? What lift do you have on your cam? I had to use a spacer with Corvette covers (.488 lift). Sounded like the June Taylor Dancers tappin in there. Mutt
I don't recall...it was just a mild RV cam. I do know that we switched to the Comp Magnums for valve cover clearance, though.
Mutt, it may be that you were using the poly locks. But if you use the standard crimped lock nut, they should be fine. I have a .510 lift cam in my 327 (in my Model A) and roller tip rockers... and Vette valve covers and they are fine. Sam.
No poly locks. Must be because of the Edelbrock aluminum heads. I tried thick gaskets before using the spacer I made and they still hit. The Edelbrocks require a .100 longer pushrod. Mutt
Thanks for the input. Anyone got a set of 1.52 ratio rockers that they're lookin' to sell? Thanks, Ed
