'29 Tudor w/SBC rad issue. What are you folks doing with aftermarket aluminum radiators to isolate vibration and movement? I blew out mine (after 7 years) at all 4 corners and the firewall to rad support rod area due to movement. I have a puller electric fan attached with the through the rad holders. I have another rad to go back in but would like to know a way to help isolate this one better. Ideas? Thanks.
Most factory rads have rubber isolators where secured to the ch***is. If your mounts are failing, I would look for something similar. Another option would be to mount the fan separately.
I also built a bracket for my rods to connect to at the radiator end that ties the radiator and the radiator shell together. This way I have the shell helping to support the radiator and the radiator isn't taking the entire load.
