After a few days of a weather delay, I got the last couple of interior parts painted.


You've heard of backyard mechanic, well here is a backyard body shop, lol.


I didn't know my *** from a hole in the ground but with the help of these MDS sheets and a very helpful paint supplier, I'm happy with the results and I learned a lot.


I underestimated how much work this part of the project was. I counted 24 pieces and dam near used the whole quart of paint (2 coats).

 

Looks really nice, great job.
I like your choice of footwear. I wear my house slippers most the time now that I have retired.

Yea, the slippers are about done so they've become painting shoes, lol.

 

With those pieces painted, the interior is going to look real good.

 

Haven't been in the shop for a couple days but I did make some parts progress. Scored a few things I needed at the Canfield Ohio swap meet over the weekend.
I'm starting to put the dash cluster together. The chrome ****on in the center of my fuel gage is discolored a milky white. This isn't supposed to be a restoration so I planned to use it. The very first table I walked up to at the swap meet had a beautiful fuel gage sitting there!


I also picked up six T-3 headlights.


Lutty's Chevy Parts delivers to Canfield so I saved shipping and sales tax for paying cash. Picked up a Left Rocker to cut out a patch to fix mine and purchased both under hood wiring harness's. This purchase hurt a bit.

 

Got the dash and wiring cleaned up and ***embled today.
This car was pretty well striped and the original dash harness was burned. I got another usable harness with the car and I've been able to locate the missing items online and at swap meets. I searched out NOS stuff wherever I could including USA made bulbs. Kinda nice turning my piles of parts into a unit.
