I curse you Rod for making us look at pictures of this styling mess. And if Chrysler did not in fact design this mess, the least they could have done is sued who ever did and the builders for libel and defamation of character!
Never heard of it or seen it before. Definitely different. We need way more creativity in automobile design today.
@SS327 I tried to lead with a tight front shot that had fewer details. It was you that clicked on the link! That was a time when so many new ideas were considered. I imagine that many comments were focused on individual details. This way the feedback was specific. Guess that's the best spin I can put on it. I will say I like the blade on the side just as much as the blade on the side of a couple late model German cars who are lauded for the design. Think 4 rings
I was in Monterey a few weeks ago, and it turned out that a friend of a friend bought the car. It is pretty wild in person. I shot some video of them trying (and succeeding) to get the various electric motors that operate the top and trunk working, but not seeing a way to upload video here...

There were three Scimitars, but besides them I'm thinking Brooks Stevens designed another car or two that had similar features like that big V front end. I have a memory rattling around in the back of my head but I can't place it.
A Brooks Stevens design on a Cord L29: much more my cup of tea. This one is a bit more idiosyncratic, in a way which isn't quite unrelated to the Scimitar.
