Remember the Studebaker kart hauler that sadly burned and was destroyed in the L.A. wild fires? Here's my version. I bought this 1959 twin engine Blitz gokart a few months ago and as luck would have it, I have no good place in my garage to park it except in the bed of my '29 Model A pickup. It fits perfectly...in fact it fits so tight with the tail gate closed that no tie downs are needed. I'd like to take credit for carefully engineering that, but it was just dumb luck. Added bonus: it fits my son's '30 Model A pickup just as well. We fooled around with the kart, added a fuel tank which was missing when we got it, and we got it running. Gorgeous!
I'd keep an eye out for another set of those kart tires. Fit like that is hard to reproduce!
Wheel and tire plus stance on the trucks is great, too.

Love the West Bend engines. Had one on my Blackhawk Chief in '61 complete with crankcase stuffer, porting etc. All the usual stuff.

A friend of mine built one in high school metal shop, only he powered his with a motorcycle drivetrain. After he finished it, he drove it home. He said it would do 60 mph.

That looks the perfect combination of dangerous and fun, both trucks are just right too.

As a guy who raced karts in the '70s and '80s, I have to give two thumbs up to this. That twin is an absolute beauty. When I was a kid in the '60s karts were everywhere. I have two brothers with friends with early '60s karts and I wanted one badly. I'd check kart books out at the library and drool. I even cajoled my older brother into fabricating the one in the photo below. Never was properly two stroke powered.

If I had a vintage kart I'd haul it in my '31 roadster pickup too! My Karts are modern and our track is in my front yard so no longer have to haul them at all.
Love the vintage karts and the haulers!
