Hot Rods Save This Chevy 3100 Truck from the Crusher.

Seen this Chevrolet Pickup Truck 3100 for sale on the side of the road. Here are pictures and a phone number to reach the seller in Lawton, VanBuren County, Michigan, 269 area code.
Not mine, just trying to save this old Chevy Truck from the Junk Yard & Crusher.

Price seems a little high…

 

It wouldn’t bother me to crush it if no one would take it. I would try to part it out first!

Pretty rough for a no-***le truck at $2500. It is a pickup, which is good, and good cabs aren't impossible to find, mostly off of giant 2 ton grain trucks and whatnot. Still though, it would take a lot to fix it.

 

I think he needs to take the 2 off the front of that number.

 

^^^ I was thinking take one zero off the back of the number.

 

That is top dollar for what looks like a halfway decent parts truck.
Bed and hood look ok, cab is rusty, p***enger door is bad.
$1000 worth of sellable parts there IMHO.

$2500 for a truck with no ***le that barely qualifies as a parts vehicle?

Not a terrible deal if you already have a long bed pickup or a big truck you want to convert to a SWB pickup. The box, fenders & steps gotta be worth $1500, and the SWB frame another $500.

 

You haul it you can have it is the right price. It's Michigan their termites even eat steel........

The one you posted is ‘58/9.

 

Did this year have a tourq tube or a drive shaft like 1960's C10's?
I think all old iron trucks are cool.

Torque tube ended around 54 for gm trucks

 

...those can be neat drivers...

 

For sure, if you had a huge old grain truck or something with a good cab, engine and a ***le, you could put it together with this to make a pickup, this thing definitely has some value. But even in Wisconsin, where old builder trucks are rare, I think it would top out at 1200-1500, ***uming the frame is good and the box and rear fenders are halfway decent (which they look like they could be).

I don't think it's a $250 or $500 truck as some would suggest, but I don't think anyone's gonna pay $2500 either.

 

I could never understand why GM went from the nice Smoth Edge Roof like in the Chevy 1959 31 Trucks to the Upward Edged Seam Roof of the 1960-66 C10's?
GM made a step backwards, but I still like my 63 C10's.
