After a 16 hour drive by myself, I got in line up in Maine to ring it out in my 5-window. One p***, made it up to 125 mph. and realize I had to drive back home again alone for another 16 hours and called it a day. It was well worth the trip.

 

not my car any more, but it did end up on a drag strip a few times, and also got a whole lotta street miles. The Chevy II, that is. This is in the burnout box at the drag strip in Chandler, AZ, which is called Firebird again.

Before we moved I used to go to the Friday night street legal drags a couple times a month. Looks like I turned on the red on this p***.

I took my '39 Ford convertible around Charlotte Motor Speedway when the Goodguys event was there, I do know that a dropped axle set up is not ideal for that track, but 3 laps around it was fun. HRP

 

I don't have pictures of my car actually racing, I'm in the car not on the sidelines with a camera
but I have a couple of the car at the track.. and at least one or two short clips borrowed from videos posted online.

I will be respectful of the rules and not post the pics but I have many of my cars getting ran hard on the track both drag track and cone carving. The Olds made a decent drag car and the paint on my Camaro was getting thin on the doors from buffing out the cone marks. Good times.

Years ago I drove my Model A Victoria around Indianapolis Motor Speedway with the Goodguys.
My wife and daughter were along on the trip. One usually rode in back, but for this adventure all three of us crammed in the front seat.
As flat as Indy is for racing, at 60 mph you can only stay on the banking by steering up the hill.

 

You can just see the FED I'm pulling a hole shot on. Maybe next year I'll chase a lower e.t.

Made a "gearing change" at the Antique Nationals . . .
First time with the tires' normal gearing was one second slower than with the small tires. (Also sure harder to steer off onto the return road.)

 

I've made a dozen or so p***es on a drag strip, in 4 different vehicles, all at the earlier HAMB drags, all of them in the 16 second range. There are probably pictures of those p***es somewhere on line.
I've made a few "parade" laps at a few different speedways, in a few different vehicles, during car shows as well. There probably isn't any picture proof of any of those adventures.
Its hard to take pictures from the driver's seat.
