Those are "BearPaws". Rather rare & expensive. The spokes were curved partially for aesthetic purposes.

Got rid of those ugly radials and got proper white walls.

 

As I get closer to setting up the rear suspension of my speedster, at the moment it has a slight rake towards the front, but in the 3D model made by Petro Schekhter it has a reverse rake. Not sure which would be best. I went with wide-five wheels/hubs as I didn’t want wire wheels or later period steelies.

 

One of the great threads - time for a new contribution, not convinced that the fabrication to create the look is always traditional…

 

Has that got the front wheels on the back and back on the front?

The tyre to arch ratio looks wrong, perhaps its the camera angle though.

Yup, maybe deserves a qualifier - not all modifications may be traditional or safe.

 

Each style of build requires a certain stance to make it perfect. I really like the stance of my chevy, but only on a build of this look.

What were the immediate pre-war/immediate post war race cars like? I'd use that as a basis, however to truely get the stance right, you will need the body on there to dial it in. Cool car btw. There were a few GN/Fraser Nash's in Australia fitted with sidevalve v8's in period

 

Its the camera angle for sure, still looks funny there but I think its just the view.

This photo is an excellent angle to showcase a good stance/rake in a Model A Sedan. (Two things make a car: Wheels and Stance.)

The chopped top is about a good height for clear vision in front, not so much in the right rear side and rear window view. But, that is personal safety points.

What I see is a cool sedan with an at***ude most of us would like when driving down the street. An SBC motor with a centrifugal supercharger, a 4 speed stick shift and a cool A/C unit to keep things on an even keel. Now, where are those 400 mile road trips up/down the So Cal coastline?

But, as others have pointed out, the tires are cool. Big giants in the rear, and dinky ones in the front. Look at the angle after it was enhanced without the tree growing out of the top, or at least less of an intrusion on the overall photo.

So, what happens if a blow out is had in the front, what spare is available? Ok, so the small spare fixes that. But, what if one of the giant rear tires gets a blow out on the Big Sur, curvy cliff side road to Monterey/S.F.?

What does one do, use the small spare in the rear? Looking like a wounded tank leaning to one side and 50-100 plus miles to go on a winding, coastal road? YRMV
