I've been busy the past month moving but awhile back i've been really into learning about factory ***embly/inspection markings on different makes and cars (Blame my OCD for my attention to details) since i know a treasure trove about kustoms and rods and lowriders but not really jack **** about OEM+ restoration. I figured since its a flathead and not strictly about OEM this'll get a p***. I was watching a ***embly line video and found this. No other restored Model A or shoebox even at that had these markings, was wondering if anyone else had seen them on their own flathead before being dissasambled/hopped up

That’s about 1937. I think most of the chalk had washed off by the time we saw a flathead.

It could have been a grease pen or a paint pen, but yeah the markings most likely burned off before any hot rodder got their hands on one.

  5. That’s a factory mark indicating that the block is not cracked. So they could make sure it didn’t leave that way…

My ‘50 still has markings on the firewall…..it’s not the original engine in the car but I haven’t really looked for marks. The “MA” looks like a paint stencil. The car was ***embled in Somerville, MA. Looks like “75” and “BK” and “R6”…..Mark IMG_0456.jpeg IMG_0457.jpeg
