O.k. so I didn't get 56 Chevy truck finished in time. So my choices are now a 63 Nova conv. or 71 Chevy truck. I'm thinking the truck but car gets better milage and uses less oil. Neither one will be competing just following a long. The truck engine lacks power and would be lucky to get a 20 second p***. I also don't have wheels for slicks to fit truck. The car is original 6 cyl. auto. It would not be fast either. 20 second plus e.t. I still plan on having fun just no track time. The Nova would save me about $250 over taking the truck. What would you drive?
I’d drive the nova because I like road tripping convertibles. I just completed a drag and drive in my ‘54 Country Squire and all I can say is you’ll Have a great time no matter what you drive.
WOW!!!! Two cars just ran some crazy times. A 5.99 and a 5.97 in the 240 mph range. Insane that they are also planning to drive these two cars (well, one is an S10) for the rest of the week. Too cool ....
I'll be rejoining the live stream tomorrow. The weather at Cordova is looking a little sketchy(?) early in the day, tomorrow. Hopefully we will see some racing.
I wondered if we might see Hamb member Hemi Joel with his early hemi powered '30's Mopar coupe being that this years Drag Week is kind of up in his part of the country.
@squirrel you went to run as I pulled in. I missed it then you were gone. I knew it was a one and done day. You must have packed after the run and left.
we watched a little bit of racing, then ate lunch, then left. But it was a short day at the track for us, and we got to the hotel in St Louis by 6
