Dan, I'm glad you made it, too. No one is ever sorry they showed up.

  2. A few thoughts I forgot on my previous review of Lloydfest IV....

A big shout out to @tim troutman for the advice & letting Laura sit in his T-Bird to make sure she could be comfortable with her limitations at Lloydfest III so that I would not screw myself by buying her one for Christmas!. Seriously I was looking at all 3 years & even replica's before talking to Tim! Glad I chose the one I did after talking to him!

Lets NOT forget the Ladies.... A BIG shout out to the Wives, Girlfriends & Daughters of the crazies in this great hobby who chose to attend & need that support of these ladies!!! I normally don't list names as again my memory is shot, but here goes.....My Lovely Wife Laura, Tonya, Angie, Sherry, Missy, Alynn, Lois, Kim, Mary, Jesse, Angel (LF1) & Clayton's @The_Cat_Of_Ages Girlfriend...Very sorry I can't remember her name from LF3. Even my Step Daughter Julia who along with her husband Mark came to LF2 & stayed in the cabin with us for no other reason than to give me a break from taking care of her Mom after her spine surgery & helped out so much allowing us to attend even though Laura was in a wheel chair. I may have forgotten a few others in this post, Even the ladies who don't come, but allow/help the guys attend the event!!!

    God Bless

    Bill,

According to the notes I took last year Clayton's (@The_Cat_Of_Ages) partner in crime at LF III was Sophie.

  5. Thank you Mike,

Now if I show your post to Laura, she will say.....I need to be more organized like you!!!!
With all my customers, her, Mom & Dad, etc to take care of I am lucky to remember my own name most days. I forgot my Birthday this year Again until Mom called to wish me Happy Birthday while I was on the road. LOL:p:p

  7. My Lovely Wife Laura told me to include this for next year....

It broke my heart knowing @alanp561 & his daughter Alynn were broke down just 30 miles from the show Thursday Night & missed the dinner at the country club!

Folks....If you have issues coming in (especially that close), Once my car is unloaded early Thursday afternoon, I will be GLAD to come & get you with the truck & trailer!!! This is what I do & it is NO Big Deal to help in a small way so you can enjoy our get together!

Lock my number in your contact list (216)832-8697! Since Laura told me to do this, she is not going to be pissed if I check out of the dinner to help you get there!!!! Some of the other great folks who attend will make sure she gets back to the park to meet me once I get back with you & your car. Can't stress this enough....We ALL help each other.

    God Bless

    ^^^^^^
This is what makes Lloydfest GREAT. I saw two broken cars with a group of people jumping in to help. I needed to adjust the brakes and Gary jumped in to help me. WOW I’m so blessed to be involved with this group.

What @Sharpone said about feeling like he knew everyone there forever is the truth. This is a good group of people. Alyn and I broke down on I 75 about 30 miles from Lloyd's, so I called him to tell him we'd be late:(. AAA showed up and towed us to the motel in the middle of the night. Next morning, @Truckdoctor Andy and his son Chandler showed up at the motel with his trailer, and we hauled the '48 to the park. Gary (@ROADSTER1927) and Mike (@50chevytx) jumped in and got greasy right along with me. After finding out that the new carburetor wasn't the problem, it turned out to be a bad set of points with the rubbing blocks worn off. Lloyd just happened to know a local guy named Jay who had a distributor with a good set of points. For some reason, my crab cap and rotor wouldn't work on his distributor, so we swapped the points plates, put it all back together and it fired right off. Steve (@chevy57dude), was wrenching on Clayton's (@The_Cat_Of_Ages) '57 Ford; more distributor trouble. Things got done, nobody got grumpy and success was shared by all. Kind of like working in my backyard with a bunch of friends when I was a kid. After that, all was good until Alyn and I got about 30 miles (there's that number again) from home and the engine just shut down:(. Again, it was AAA to the rescue and now it's time to start diagnosing the problem again:(. You know, I bought a running, driving car so that I wouldn't have to be doing this:mad:. Maybe I should start listening when several people suggest going to an SBC? Nahhhhh;).
