There was also an episode where Hawkeye X-rayed a box that Radar was mailing home and it contained Jeep parts. Apparently Radar was sending a Jeep home to the farm one piece at a time.

Supposedly this came off McConnell Air Force base in Wichita KS.

I had to go to Wichita from Wisconsin to pick it up about 20 yrs ago.

Yup, that and they also knew the cost to get those vehicles home would far outweigh them just being dumped into the drink. Happened with a ton of surplus after the war both on land and sea. Lots of stuff was regrettably buried that we would kill for now.

  5. Don't forget the episode where Klinger was eating a Jeep one piece at a time.

  6. Not going into the politics of it but that is why we have a $40 trillion dollar deficit.
I think every one of us have watched the 1970s videos of the helicopters getting thrown off the side of the boats.
Or like President Trump said probably 8 or 9 years ago now he had a general tell him it wasn't worth flying an airplane out of Afghanistan when all it needed was fuel.
    Our government is so wasteful.
On that same subject my buddy bought a military 5 ton I think it was an OshKosh brand (don't quote me on it he has had so many military cars over the years) anyways it was a 1980 something and it was fully rebuilt in 2008 it had 61 hours on its engine meter he bought it at auction for $2,600 bucks. I don't know how much 5 ton military trucks are to rebuild but I am pretty sure they are probably literally 100 times that amount.
