1 1/2 ton cab same as 1/2 ton?

would a cab for a 48-52 chevy 1 1/2 ton cab the same size as a 1/2 ton cab? the cab i'm looking at looks bigger, maybe because it's sitting so much higher off the ground

 

cabover cabs were different, the rest were the same....according to the parts book

 

Great question! I got 2 46 chev cabs, 1 from a 1 1/2 t and 1 from a 1/2 t. they are the same.. but the fenders are wayyy bigger on the 1 1/2t...

 

Hood is longer on the 47-55 1 1/2 ton truck too. Pat.

i have a 54 that was at one time a 1 1/2 ton, fenders are taller and the hood is shorter, but is the overall front end wider? just curious. and are the much difference besides the obvious with the pre 53 and the 54-55's besides the windshield and grill?

if u look at that site i posted it'll tell u a lot about ur truck.
if i'm not mistaken the 1 1/2ton one do have a wider front end.
the cabs themselves are the same as the 1/2tons up && u should be able to put earlier sheet metal on it w/o any problems. doors will fit but on the 47-50 or 51 the door latches are different. other then the suspension being slightly different thats about it.....joe

 

Dash is different on the 54/55S1 than the others in the AD bunch. Glove box, all of it. Gages are not the same but they'll fit if I recall.
