Any one know what springs to run other than the ones they sell with the kit. Heard they were. Dodge springs? Any one know Year,Make, front or rear? Just looking for something cheaper than the 209 price tag on there springs. Thanks
I bought the ones from CE, but I think Dodge pick up front springs from the 1960s are what they said work.
I heard they were 60s Dodge van, they main thing about them is that the locating nub is in the center of the spring.
i'd get the CE springs , if i recall correctly the dodge springs would need to be dearched to get the car to sit right i also think they are dodge D100 pickup front springs
You are correct,,,,,I used a set on a 39 convert,,,,I also replaced them shortly after that with the new C.E. springs,,,,,Big improvement! HRP
Don't cheap out on something as important as springs. First, what you'll probably get is used and used stuff is usually beat to death and the chances of getting a pair that will hold the car up evenly is remote. Even if you get a pair fromthe same car there is no telling how the vehicle was loaded during it's lifetime or how it was driven and over what kind of roads. I've seen guys buy used springs only to have one (or both) break after just a short while. It's just not worth the h***le having to change them after you already spent the time to build the car. I've used there rearend kit including the springs and hangers and u bolts on 4 cars that I have built, I would recomend them highly for any 35-40 build.
Only way to go if using a parallel leaf set up. I have 22k miles on mine, and love the way it rides. I would spend the extra @$150 and get the rear sway bar too. It bolts right on.
