i've talked to a couple people, and they tell me my framerails are too close together in the front of my t frame...not to the point to where it's not safe and doesn't work, just to the point where it kind of catches your eye, and looks off, my rails are wider in the rear and taper toward the front, i can pie cut the frame up at the firewall and widen out the front...but i've already made the frame that way, and don't really wanna lose square...any suggestions to pie cutting my frame at the firewall and makin the frame up front wider?? where the piece of square tubing is tack welded to the frame is exactly where the firewall is, heres some pics

Where are you going to place your shackles? If you are going to mount them on the wishbones it looks like your spring may be a little narrow. If your perches come off the bones quite a ways you might make it but it will impart quite a twisting motion to the wishbones as the suspension moves.

It seems like you are guessing at your dimensions. A T frame is parallel front to rear. Go to Wescott's web site and look at the drawing they have. It includes dimensions. You really need a solid start to end up with a worthwhile car. The fact that you are questioning your design so early means you haven't thought it all the way through. Not trying to bash, just share some hard earned wisdom. You aren't too far along to start over. Better sooner than later.

I like the narrow look. I can imagine a little banger powered modified sitting on there. But...the whole package has to work. You need to do some pretty comprehensive drawings or mock up your car as far as you can to see what works visually (and mechanically)

I think it looks good, particularly if you use a narrow engine ( banger or straight 6/8 ) and a narrow grill/nose. Before you do much more welding you might want to mock it up using some of the components you plan on using, and give it the old eyeball check. Marko.

....places make narrow ones everyday......tapered rails just take a little planning ....to get all the important stuff in a particular area.....my t rails taper from the firewall to the track nose....my old model a was the same way....brandon
