I think some of those companies are still using those same displays...! LOL Seriously - I'm actually suprised to see what HASN'T changed. It's really not too far off base from today... ~Scotch~
What a testament to companies like Simpson and Deist pictured above. That was 40 years ago and they are still going strong!
Nobody can steal more than a man equipped with a suit, tie and a breifcase. Just ask anyone that had Enron stock.
You guys all missed my point. There isn't a single vendor there who isn't wearing a tie, and most are wearing jackets or full suits.
Wow.... Very cool pic's.I've been to 15 SEMA shows but only at the Las Vegas Convention Center.... none of the earlier ones. The booth size sure has changed tho ! I agree it's good to see some of the old names still there.I was talking with Nancy and Melanie at the Hellwig booth at SEMA this year...I think I'll call them up and show them this thread..... I'm sure they will get a kick out of it ! Awsome pics!.
That was a cold, windy venue! No carpets, 90 boothes and plenty to drink. If I remember correctly, the exibitor's party was at Pete's (Robert E. Peteresen) house. There was a speed equipment show in 1966 at the Disneyland hotel put on by Noel Carpenter, editor of Speed & Custom Equipment News (SCEN). Everybody wore suits in those days as a sign of professionalism. My client's lawyers and accountants wore suits, so I did too.
