You have got to be joking..... I have been to nearly every one of the GG swapmeets this year, and Scottsdale kicked ***. There was so much stuff, good deals, and such a wide variety, that I was blown away. It was better than Indy.... a pair of 4" cragars, with 165s= $125 Three tudor sedan bodies, at least four model A frames, numerous doo-dads, a sweet pair of E&J's, a complete & running Manx Towd, a 41 Ford for $900, a project 40 Ford with neartly everything for $12k, a 21k original mile AMC hornet, a V8 Comet, muscle car parts, signs, motors, gauges, I bought several hard to find muscle bike parts, minibikes, 4x4 parts, hot rod parts of every kind, a steam engine... it was never ending and they had everything. You must have gone sunday afternoon, after Jerry wiped them clean. The event was awesome, lots of cool cars, lots of nice people, nice, uh, scenery, Arizona rules.... can't wait until next year.
As a matter of fact we are flying (yeah, ****-don't have enough time of to drive) in to PHX next Nov. on that weekend, staying thru Thanksgiving. What is the location of show?
My buddy brought down the Studebaker truck that they built. I guess it got the goodguys "truck of the year" pic. Too bad the owner blew the ****** out of it not too long ago. I think they only had first gear and reverse. Ha Ha Ha
Hot Rod Ron, I saw your car there and met SOCHEAP but missed you again. Love your wheels. It was kinda fun listening to how many guys walking by saying "Well that's a start." TMcG, Havent met you yet either, but I got your address and some day I need to meet ya!... Great event and great weather.
For some reason I didn't get a pic of that truck, but it is fantastic. It doesn't have to run when it looks that good. It has some incredible workmanship.
thanks erock805 I am sure we will run into each other real soon. The wheels are repops of the 40 ford from wheel vintique with the black walled firestones. Alot of people say that about my car. Oh well I love it and that's all that matters.
great pics, the 55 was joe that works for me, he and I took it out for the week and had a blast cruising in scottsdale and the GG event. got a coup le of good offers but not sold yet. and yes it runs great we rowed a bunch of gears on the frank lloyd wright parkway hehe.........as for the swapmeet I thought it was excellent if not a bit pricey but what isnt out there.....
I saw you guys way over there, and decided I really didn't want to walk that far. Besides, who knows what might have happened to a vulnerable young guy like myself, with a camera, and a group like that. I've heard stories you know!
Jeff Norwell, Where were you? It wasn't the SAME without you! Jerry had no gauges in tow this year?!?! Christian scored a '28 sedan bod for 700 bones!!! (DAMN!) My **** box got "Best Ser****". Got to cruise through the "line". Felt just like Robby Benson in "Walk Proud" only totally different. Had scads of fun this year, had to miss Steve's for the second year, wife's company's Holiday party was Sat. night. Heard there was some sort of weird human furniture performance art thing at El P's?!
ALL **** ACTION ! There was wooden paddling, hot wax, blow torches and pulling the tails off of grey squirels! You seriously missed out. Next year just two words: Farm Animals.
I misse you guys...kept thinking about last year and how much fun it was! Jeem...got pics of the rig? Did everone behave or was Goldbond required? dang..maybe next year!
Ran into Flying Polack out there too. Met his lovely wife along with more of his kids. Come on Stupski, break out with some photos!!
