I was a little dissapointed, with the Rod Run in Termecula and Long Beach (I think that was today), seems like things gat a little watered down. Didn't buy much and didn't dell much either, but still had a blast.

Past on some what seemed to be good deals an Essex grille shell for 20 bux and a 31 deck lid for 30, dang if I was only building a hot rod righ now.

    How about you? Anyone.....

hey gregg, i didnt find much of anything down there that was decently priced. i was looking for a 30-31 ford model a and a big block chevy to go in it. people were asking way too much for their sheetmetal. i only saw 2 big blocks. one was rebuilt for $1600 but i dont trust any ones rebuilds but my own. the other i saw was a 396 that was .040 over, and needed a rebuild and alot of parts were missing for $575. this year was a let down. it was good to get out and see everyone though.

i got real lucky and saw a guy pulling in with a trailer full of old sprint car stuff, followed him to his space and before he even got unloaded scored a mag champ halibrand quick change for really cheap. i've been kinda looking for one for awhile cause i'm to cheap and poor to buy a new one so i really lucked out. other than that just some headlights and rings and that was really it. we also did ok selling got rid of all the heavy crap i didn't want to load back up anyways.
the swap did seam pretty sparce alot of empty spots for a sold out event. it was still fun getting to b.s. with every one and listen to some great juaqin arnett stories in the afternoons when the swap slowed down. and also watching pete ardema and crew burning up the parking lot in his 34. all in all it was a really fun weekend.
well what did everyone else end up with LB, seldomscene etc.

    Hey Gregg,

Good to see ya there. I did well I bought a L and R '54 Chevy turn signal grille ends. They were in pretty decent shape for $20 ea. I've never seen them for less then $40 a piece.

I hope everyone had as much success as I did. If you missed this one hit it next year. KK

I picked up a ugly triumph chopper, but I will manage to Deuglify it. its an early 50's tr5, with a factory hardtail frame.

the guys I was with sold a bunch of stuff, Adam sold a bunch of his dropped axles, and we made a deal to drop 10 32 heavy beams for one guy. Ron sold one of his teather cars, and a bunch of little stuff.

a good time, and some good deals, TONS of banger stuff, but all outta my price range.

Found a couple goodies. It sure looked like a RV camp ground instead of a swap meet.

I got some good stuff at the swap and managed to meet up eith a bunch pf people that I don't get to se very often. I even managed to take a trip up to the ranch and hang out with rogue for a couple of hours.

    At the swap I found:
a nice tail gate for my F1
a flywheel for the 223 6cyl going into my '32 pick up.
An Adapter for a Y-block to early Ford trans (might work w/ my 223).
a bitchin' fiberglass dragster scoop ala Greer, Black, Prudhome style (red w/ heavy silver metalflake scallops).
Four Hurst patches (been looking for those for 2 years).
