hey peeps, just wondering if any of you know wether or not ford mechanically fuel injected any flatheads. buying a flatty off a buddy, with trans, and he said it has mechanical fuel injection. havent seen it yet, so not sure, dreaming and wishing it's some early form of hop up injection.....i guess i can only dream...thanx for any responses

If they did, it certainly wasn't available to the public--kind of like the six stainless steel cars they made in '36. Maybe it's the aftermarket conversion made in the '50s/'60s that used 97 bases.

    Two different set-ups:

    1) Hilborn injection: Just like any other set-up you've seen. Pump runs off the crank w/ the injector/manifold bolted up like a regular intake set-up

    2) Scott (Very early version of I guess throttle body injection?) Looks somewhat like a 97 but works like a throttle body.

I'm sure there are other exotic systems out there.

    I hope this helps.
