I have my eye on a car in Greene Iowa, and I'm looking for someone to run by and kick the tires and check the body mounts for me... PM me if you are close.

A few years ago my dad bought a 26 T Sedan from that place. I have been wanting to go check it out sometime. It is like 3 or 4 hours from me I think.

same place i got the 54... most of his stuff is pretty decent, little over priced on some, good on others.

he seemed a little pissed off when i picked up the '54. . . some of the pieces were taken off the car that were in the pic he had on the net, and i raised a stink about it. we agreed to his price, and shook hands on it IF he could locate the bumper. as he was sayin he would go look for the bumper and **** that was missing, i asked if he had a screwdriver handy cause i wanted to look in the trunk, and the handle/lock was missing... his mechanic came out with one, and i opened the trunk to find a ton of brang new parts and patch panels for the car in there... new rear drums and cylinders, outter rockers, lower fenders patches, and lower rear quarter patches, bunch of NOS trim in the box, extra hood hinge and NOS hinge springs... worth almost what i paid him for the car;)

he was NOT pleased when he came back with the bumper ( freshly smoke wrenched off) to find all them parts...

make sure if you do buy from him to settle all the details SOLID before you run to get the car, and deal with Randy... he's the better tempered of the brothers

Yeah - Austin's... if someone happens by there within a few weeks, check out this Concorde and see if it's worth what he's asking. It looks like a solid start from the pictures, but you know how some dealers take pictures of all the "GOOD" ****, making sure to skip all the ****.

I would appreciate it, I ain't going to pursue if it ain't worth the trip. But I love the look... kinda - mini-merc

I was wondering if this place was as bad as the place in Staunton Illinois. The prices seem enticing, but the picture all look like someone rattle canned a field find, and then called it worth more.

Austin's had a three day BIG TIME auction not too long ago, charged ya for even being there and added another 10% to the bid, ticked me off and I didn't even go. Not sure if they are even in business any longer. They had a Web site... check Google for it.

  10. i have seen the ads from greene iowa, too i went there on my way out west for vacation (junkyard searching) i thought the prices seemed good in the ads but i was not impressed with the cars at all i saw a lot of cars that were repaired (bondo) to make them look good in the photo's body work on the outside only nothing done to floor pans or other interior work, i will say the bondo jobs were awfully good, and i saw some rusted out area's painted body color with spray cans as not to show up on on-line photo's, i saw this new trick at some other dealers too. i would not buy a car from them unless i saw it in person way to risky, my comments only apply to the car sold as builders, i did see a bunch very nice looking drivers i did not look close at them as i was not intrested in that type of car

I talked with the old man the other day, Jim I believe. He said he had sold the business to his son, which included about 80 cars. they were still hashing out the details. I was interested in a car they had online. He said he would email me pics that day and make a follow-up call to me. I never heard from him again, no pics were sent and the last time I checked, you could not get on their site.
