I was just in Torrance the other day, wearing one of my "Church" shirts, and wondered how the feller was feelin'. Glad to hear he's doing well...

Why hello there. Here's the deal.....straight from the horses mouth. A couple weeks back my kidneys began to fail due to all the antibiotics I was on. Them little buggers were only working at between 20 and 25 percent of their capacity. Luckily, their lowest point was just above dialasis. I was sent back to the hospital for more tests, tubes, needles, cameras and crappy food for a week in the acute observation unit. I'm currently home, and on some crazy diet trying to get the kidneys to recover. Little by little hey are turning themselves around. The doctors would rather not operate with weak kidneys on top of the bum ticker. I still have blood tests 3 times a week, doctors appointments with my cardiologist, internal specialist (kidneys), and infectious disease doctors constantly. Next week I meet with the head cardiothoracic (invasive heart) surgeons at 2 major hospitals in the area as "consultations". They are basically interviews with the best heart surgeons LA has to offer as recommended by my doctors. After that, I decide where I want this thing done, and who is going to cut me. I tell you, this being sick is like a full time job!!!

Appreciate the concerns. I'll definitely let you all know when the big day is.

    You'll be in our thoughts.

My 10yr old has 2 of your shirts, and they are his favorite. I'm too fat:(
    :D

Keep your spirits up. I pray the best for you.

  11. Glad to hear that you're making progress on this thing. Stay strong, my friend. And in my opinion, Memorial hospital in Long Beach has the best cardiac care in the area. If you want to talk about what the recovery from open heart is like, feel free to PM me and I'll share what I know.

Take care, Coby. The Vipers are all pulling for you…
