I need to know if there are any companies that make new parts for a 1956 International 1/2 ton pickup. I'm looking mainly for suspension and brakes, but would also like to find some misc. trim. PLEASE HELP ME!
I'd bet you'd be out of luck on trim pcs being re-popped. For brake, suspension & mechanical stuff, you might want to try NAPA Auto Parts. They usually are able to help me out.
www.oldihc.org There's a link on the top of the page for a great parts source for our old binders. eBay always has rubber parts & misc stuff brand new for the trucks as well. I've got a '57 S-110, looks like a '56 though.
http://www.superscoutspe******ts.com/store/ http://www.scoutconnection.com/ http://www.backcountrybinders.com/ I've dealt with all three with good luck. There is no trim being repo'ed for it, but NOS & used stuff is available. Most of the mechanical & suspension parts are easily gotten, either from NAPA as mentioned, or one of the IH vendors. The '56 is a neat truck.
Where do you get gl*** for the 56, anyone make new gl***? I know they must,I have seen some 56 that was restored, but no contact info.any help would be great!
Dinkster, you should do an intro...it's a tradition here. Any of the above places MIGHT have NOS gl***....possibly....more likely to have used gl***, though...if anything. Scout Connection seems to have a lot of older IH non-Scout parts, as does Super Scout Specialties. The back & side windows can probably be done by any gl*** shop. I don't know about the windshield. Try OEM Gl*** in Bloomington, IL- they used to have the ability to get/make a lot of vintage car gl***. There's probably someone closer to you, though.
Thanks guys,I have spent all day on the computer and mabie Monday Ill get a email,I even found one place will make a winsheld if you send them a molding of it,but that would be the last thing to do.the flat gl*** is easy to get cut stuff.here are a couple of them www.customautogl***ofbrookfield.com www.psautogl***.com lewisstreetgl***.com and who makes it with a mold you make is www.bentgl***desighn.com just a few but the best chance I found for a new winsheld. The other gl*** is no problem.
NAPA has lots of stuff that i need for my 52 binder. I would try them first and the sites below might help http://www.automotive-links.com/mak/ihc/ihc.htm http://www.travelallparts.com/ http://www.ihautoparts.com/product/catalog/110-1100-pickup-travelall-c-26.html http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/x,carcode,1437644
