1932-37 Ford tailgate mounting question

I am putting together a 1932 Ford bed and need some help.

Is this roughly where the tailgate chain bracket should be on the rear stake pocket? The chain and hook support the bed when it is open, right?

What holds the tailgate closed? I can’t figure this one out!!!!!!

I thought the holes on the brackets would line up with the two holes on the tailgate, and the hook would keep the tailgate closed. I guess not.

I am bolting a combo of repo and original 1932 Ford parts together, and I want to make sure everything fits before I rivet it together.

The master link (the big one)wraps around the tailgate and that clevis goes through the gate like you have it latched..
