Dan Pic***o drew up a concept for one in Custom Rodder a while a go. Its basically the coolest one I have ever seen and it needs to be built. Maybe anyone on here can post it?
This is my '57, New Year's Eve '02, still have the paint project going but this is when it was more complete. Planning on a super glossy Burgundy, smoothed over side mirror post holes, smoothed out front o' the hood, header pipes to trail out behind the front wheel before turning back under the cab (what're those called, anyway? Who sells 'em for FE mills?), and cl***ic chrome baby moons. Can anyone photoshop with a burgundy to cover this paint-stripped silver? Anyway, hope it helps you visualize the possibilities. I for one recommend paint.
Rear shot of the short bed. The cab is actually a '60, everything else is '57. Am replacing the old wood with new, prob'ly stain it on the lighter side to compliment the Burgundy-to-be (or "Red Pearl Mica"). Wood in yours? I recommend Mar-K Products out of OKC, good products, good prices. Gonna have the bed rails painted the same color as the truck.
Hey Bigdog, check this one out! It is the wildest '57-60 I have ever seen! And here's a link with all of the build-up photos -- it is a pretty amazing transformation. My favorite pic is of the top section of the cab laying on the floor and it still has the windshield in it... http://www.stevesautorestorations.com/project4.html
I did a couple of concepts of '57-60 F-100s for Cl***ic Trucks magazine a while back. I've posted this a couple of times, but here it is again: '60s show truck style... I also did a hot rod version for the same issue.
My Dad's '59. It has a '57 T-Bird 312 (.030 over, ballanced, blueprinted) with Ram Horn exhaust. MII front suspension... no bags, he runs it low all the time. He flipped the rear axle. Since this pic, he has added lake plugs, just behind the front tires. I can't wait 'til he opens them up! This pic is from Good Guys at Hershey 2006 - he took home a Top 10 Trucks pic. Not bad for a homebrew project - he didn't go looking for a trophy, but it was a cool surprise! Good lusk with the '60!
photoshop of mine. gettin slammed soon as i can get it to my buddy's garage outside of town. this is what i'm shootin' for...
Here's the one I just stuck in the cl***ifieds. I'm sellin it to build a 1960 CrewCab. They are pretty fun with big blocks.
heres a pic of my 58 f-100. gotta finish stripping the roof and shoot some sealer on it i need to take a some pics of the suspension i just flipped the axle on the front and raised the steering box
