Notice the open trailers.. You could see the cars as they went to and from the races.. Try to tell a younger person about a tow bar. Also most of the drag cars were driven to the strip and were daily drivers.. Bobby..
You just know thats a GSTA car, because we always put the scoops on facing in the PROPER direction. Some pretty damn cool pictures, thanks for sharing.
Wow, Those pictures give me the chills. Thank you, and you made my night. I need to shake out some old photos that my dad has stashed. I have a scanner now, so I'll get on it.
Damn. You hit the mother lode of cool shit. A Pinto funny car, a Cheetah drag car, a double hemi rail. Congrats on your find!
Hey Hat Man... I 'just' got done typing up a response to you...and guess I lost it. Starting all over. I may know you...but I was the photographer at Scribner Raceway (1980-1985). I couldn't view the photos you have...but I'm certain they are David Moore's pictures from when he was the photographer at Cornhusker. His brother Tim let me look at them right before he killed himself (1982)...and let me take as many as I wanted. I only took two...and gave them away (Wally Booth's Pro Stock Gremlin...and don't remember the other one). Please get ahold of me outside of this forum if you like (or anyone reading this)...or get ahold of me 'inside' of this forum. My info is... Rocky Finlayson 421 1/2 G. Street Central City, NE 68826 308-940-0572 cell 308-946-2252 home/fax Email: junkman@cablene.com I want to do 'anything' to preserve the history of the sport..and would like to meet 'anyone' that has any history...photos...or memorabilia related to Nebraska drag racing in particular. Thanks...
I'm not sure what happened to the photo's that where posted earlier, but by the comments I must have missed some good ones. Here's some old ones from Marion SD.
Rocky. Haven't heard from you in awhile. Best Damn Photographer Scribner ever had. You took a bunch of pictures of my car.
