So my model A coupe is Chopped 5 inches and channeled another 6 inches. Was wondering if anyother Hambers have this and what did they do for seats? Are they angled? Any pics would be great or a make, model of seats? Any help would be great! Im actually to the point of putting in seats so help me out! Thanks!
hell of a time to think about how you'll actually fit in the car!!! If it were me I would Z the frame at the firewall and behind the seating area... so it looks channelled but still allows some room for people! Otherwise I guess you just do whatever it takes to fit!
Well im not much of a builder the i really like the way Rory Forbes built his 1930 ford coupe. Its the silver chopped, channeled and Zd coupe that was at Viva Las Vegas. He Zd the front 4 inches with 2x4 tubing and Zd the back 8 inches. He chopped it 6 inches and then channeled it 4 inches. Heres a picture of the interior with some *****in bomber seats. This coupe is one crazy hotrod. And good luck! Damn the interior shot is too big to load http://www.rodandcustommagazine.com/featuredvehicles/0611rc_1930_ford_coupe/
I went to a checker auto parts and bought a set of plastic race seats for 85 bucks and cut the top off them then had them covered, they are low slung enough that you almost sit on the floor and are laid back, the only draw back I noticed was the angle that you sit in the car, its a ***** to push the brake pedel. but that was a stock style pedel to
If you don't Z it, the car will hardly ever be driven. People will use it to lean on and drink beer while you build a new driver car.
Mines chopped 6 and channeled 5 , I'm 6'2 , built the seat back on about a 45 degree angle and the seat base is about 4" thick, works great.........
Forgot to tell ya, i also have suicide doors which makes a big differance in getting in and out.......
