Things that make you go "WOW"

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Mike Zenor, Nov 28, 2006.

  1. Maybe this belongs more at the Jockey Journal, but it was too good not to post here... Paul Brodie, a guy in Washington state, builds a 1919 Excelsior board track replica from scratch. Read the whole thing, incredible!

BTW, the bike is for sale... $100k!

Lets see Paul Jr. do that! O.C.C. gets more than that for one of their doo dad adorned "choppers". I'd say $100k is cheap for this, very impressive.

WOW. The attention to period detail, and fabrication are impressive at least.

That is a labor of love, pure and simple. $100, 000 is so cheap for that it's almost an insult. My hat is off to the builder, that kind of dedication is truely rare in this day and age.

The guy built the whole thing with nothing but a few photographs to go on. Most people on earth couldn't build a working toaster with that method.
    WOW over and over again!

  17. The for-sale notice also says the buyer will have to sign an agreement not to actually ride the bike, because of liability / insurance. Sad, but I understand how it could be a predicament for the builder.

The thing that was kind of odd was with all that machining on the engine and frame, he fabbed the seat pan out of fibergl***. But it's like Cindy Crawford's mole... distracting, but you're not gonna kick her out of bed for it.

I saw that too. I looked at it for a moment and thought to myself "Hey cool, that's Jerry. It has to be Jerry 'cause that's his bike and that big, round Hawaiian head is unmistakable".
