    Don't tell anyone, but Squirrel is one of my favorite HAMBers(in a manly way, not like how I like CheaterCarl)

    Can Switch Pitch converters be restalled so the "high" range stalls at around 2800?

  2. What normally situated transmission will fit on a GM Quad 4? For a rear drive application?

    I don't know, I've never looked at the back of a quad 4. it's been 15 years since I had to work on late models much.

    but a wild guess is S-10, they used a couple different 4 bangers in them.

    Is she Swedish? What's her last name?

    For the arthritis: WD40

    I'm damn glad to know I'm not the only one who has benefited from Dr. Squirrel's wisdom here. And more importantly, I'm not the only one who has noticed it!

  8. Actually you were very close but wrong...it is Manual not automatic-

    The three steps are: Lift your foot and step on the rubber pump/bulb on the Left side of floorboard three times:D ...it squirts gear oil from a reservoir in the transmission-thru a series of 1/8" copper lines to each and every moving part of chassis..the ends of these lines are "laced" to the tie rods,etc, with a leather boot.....

  9. I'm glad you guys are enjoying yourselves, but I really did expect some tough tech problems to be solved. Oh, well, I still got a kick out of it.:D

    This one has stumped every one else I have asked. Not really a hot rod question but what the hell, they are my all time favorite car.
    What differed between the first two completed Cobra Daytona Coupes and the last four that made them up to 7mph slower in terminal speed?

  19. Formula for the speed of a synchronous motor?

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    An easy one:
    Chryco V8 from the early 60's - not a Hemi.
    In a Supermarket parking lot, driver would hear a pop under the hood, engine wouldn't start, distributor cap would be askew, but not broken.
    Replace cap, engine started and ran fine until next time around.
    Cause?
    Oops, guess I led you up the wrong path, it was an aerodynamic issue but it had nothing to do with intakes of any sort.
    must be something to do with how nice the perfectly finished Italian bodied cars looked, while the ratty US jobs actually went fast
    When the finished cars hit the track Peter Brock and Carrol Shelby were at a loss to explain the difference. It was only worked out after one of the Italian bodied cars was parked next to one of the US built ones.
