Wasn't there a bubble (bump) put in the drivers door top for a tall driver, or was that a dif. car entirely?
Different car, that was the GT40. The bump was made so Dan Gurney would fit in the cars! The Daytona Coupe was built as an 'Interim' car to bridge the gap between the Cobra and the up-coming GT40s. You guys give in yet?
I did recall that the ch***is lube system was centralized, but I didn't know how to operate it....unfortunately I'll probably never have the chance to put your instructions to use....
Yeah, a little too off topic realy...... Something about those cars just seemed to 'get to me'. The Italians in all their wisdom decided that the American plans didn't translate into a good looking car so they took it upon themselves to change the windshield rake to a more aesthetically pleasing angle. This took out 4º of rake robbing the cars of a greater terminal speed.
that's because I sometimes keep my mouth shut when I don't have the answer buckyballs, a wierd form of carbon
I think the box in my wife's dart is the one you're talking about...it's a 1970 model. It's a nice looking steering box when it's cleaned up, but now with over 300k miles on it I need to pull it apart and see if I can get the slop out. I don't know about the H beam rods. my favorite color is blue...no, yellow....no, ARRGGGGGGGGGHHHHH
bad vacuum advance diaphram...or leaking fuel pump.... but it could be all kinds of other things, we had a 67 plymouth with a 383 when I was a kid, I learned automotive troubleshooting on that car because everything that could go wrong, did! tracked dist cap, oil leaked out of the coil, condenser went bad, funny carb problems, etc. synchronous motors? doesn't that have to do with the frequency times the number of poles minus one or something? just guessing, it's been a long time
OK,,here goes. If it takes a one legged chicken 3 minutes and four seconds to hop across a busy highway, how long does it take a three legged gr***hopper to kick all the seeds out of a six inch dill pickle?
thanks, now I can start looking for one...Fiddy Four's got one of those boxes, I think he said Tuck gave it to him...I picked it up and played with it last night, and fell in love...'70 Dart...nice...the only problem is, the steering ratio is SLOW!!!...which should be good for bonneville :O
Hmmm...does a bear pee in the____? Oppps! Does the Pope live in the woods? Yep, by the % increase over the original length.
"bad vacuum advance diaphram." Correct. The vac advance diaphragm had a pinhole, fuel laden fumes would travel into the un-vented distributor cap, points would arc, small explosion took place which blew the cap off the distributor body . . . but not too far. New vac adv unit, bending the clips for a little stronger hold and drilling a small hole in the dist cap to vent it cured the problem. "synchronous motors? doesn't that have to do with the frequency times the number of poles minus one or something? just guessing, it's been a long time." Pretty darned close, I'll give it to you. Not many have ever answered this somewhat obscure question. One of those fallback deals in contests like this one. 60 hz three phase system - 120 is the phase angle: 60 x 120 divided by the number of poles. IE: 60 hz system with a two pole machine = 3600 rpm. Same system with a ten pole machine - 720 rpm. Both machines, although running at different physical RPM are running at the same electrical speed therefore can be operated in parallel. Bulk power electricity is weird stuff....
The steering isn't that slow on the manual aluminum MoPar boxes.....I used one in my Charger to get rid of the PS. Most A-bodies used it....not just '70.
Duh, first stop the car so the parts aren't moving. OK, Easy one: My daddy's name is Henry. I'm 7 inches and I've got 2 nuts and go in and out, in and out...
Hmmmmm......I'll try. How many frost plugs are in the left side of a Mopar slant six block? (Clue....you should ask a question before answering.) Roger
So, you played with Fiddys box and fell in love. Right on for you. Where is the plowboy, sounds like **** time.
