Looking to replace '62 chevy truck front fenders, thought this was a no-brainer, but the vendor pricing is all over the place. Is there any significant difference in quality, gauge, fit? On the high side Brothers is asking 329.00/fender plus big shipping charge. I'm trying to find a supplier in California so i can go get 'em. Anyone have a good source?
are you on Berkely or China? if you are here then find some good used ones at Pick yer part. NOBODY makes a fender that fits correctly. there are prolly 15 good junkyards within an hour of Berkely. picknpull and pickyerpart change cars about once a month or more,, what ain't there today will be there next week.
I'm in china now, but my '62 is now down in Gaviota, Cali w/ my brother in law. I'm back for holidays, will try and get out to the yards. In the meantime when you're out there, I need a left and right front!!
You will probably never, ever, EVER find any perfect fenders (or even decent ones) in a junkyard! I spent 5 years scouring the Los Angeles area yards before giving up and spending $650 with Brother's several years ago for a new pair of reproduction fenders for my '63 (same fenders from '60-66). I saw dozens and dozens of rusty and beat up fenders, though. On a lighter note, I never did use that pair of new reproduction fenders that I bought from Brothers. Sold the truck. So I will sell them for $400/pr, plus shipping from the San Bernardino area of California. CANNOT SHIP TO CHINA, THOUGH--- so I would have to have a continental U.S. shipping destination.
